I would like to think that he has the team picked by mid week and then the first 11 can work on things in the days before the game, with the rest of the squad involved so they know what the idea is.

 

Surely a multi million pound business does not leave it till an hour before kick off and then let people know, can understand that in under 11 football but with grown ups?

 

However given performances this season who knows, if I was FM and on the bench I would turn up an hpour early to see if that means he gets in if someone else is late.

It might work, probably won't work. The issue is Mark Davies, not Muamba. He's not Stu Holden, which means there's every chance we'll get overrun in midfield and pushed back (Wigan), especially with a lightweight winger or two.

 

Coyle doesn't seem to accept that the formation was at fault on that day, which is worrying. If he goes with both Petrov and M Davies in a 442, we might as well throw a towel on the pitch at kick off.

It just goes to show the lack of quality this squad has, that a player who 18 months ago was a reserve midfielder being derided for his inability to pass and shoot, is now being proclaimed as the first midfielder on the team sheet.
