Guest Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Seriously, though, it looks pretty Shit for the next week Quote
frank_spencer Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Already snowing here in East Lancs. Sat with the wife's grandad having a brew in Costa watching the snow in Bury Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Manc, I'm putting it in another way- the Pennines certainly keep us moist. Thus providing a great environment for cotton spinning. Without that, our town and possibly even our club wouldn't exist as it does now. See what a win does for the positivity? Quote
MancWanderer Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Yeah. Read some fascinating stuff (to me anyway) on how the prevailing west wind across the Atlantic picks up the moisture, hits the Pennines, circles back upwards and dumps the rain/snow back down. Also how the east side of the Pennines encourages thunder/lightning down the vale of York. Love the weather!! Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Witnessed such a storm last year whilst not too far from York. Also been caught in a storm whilst hiking up near Rothbury. That was scary, wife screaming she didn't want to die as lightning crashed down close by! Quote
frank_spencer Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Thunder snow on the way. My old uni friend lives in New York their winter Instagram pictures show how we just play at bad weather. But thunder snow sounds fun Quote

Although if it could wait till I get back from watching Black Panther at the cinema tomorrow that'd be great Quote

But thunder snow sounds fun Dunno mate, we seem to have had a hell of a lot of extremes this winter. It's been pretty varied that's for sure. Had to the full works last week, 60mph winds, snow, -4 temps, a day of solid rain etc. Full check list there haha It's been a tough old winter in our game and it's not over yet. Like you say though it's fuck all compared to other places but they are prepared for it so it's all relative. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Seem to be changing the forecast regularly. Not looking like any snow now. Quote
gonzo Posted February 13, 2018 Author Posted February 13, 2018 Seem to be changing the forecast regularly. Not looking like any snow now. Wind direction is changing almost hourly. Filthy south number at the minute, meant to switch west in 20 mins to direct west so should shift rain. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Nice finish to the day. Quote
