Traf Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I only caught half the story first time around on SSN ie Petrov's got leukaemia. And I'll hold my hands up and admit I selfishly thought: "For fuck's sake, that's all our midfield from last season out now" Terrible news for Stan & the Villa: best wishes fella. Quote
superbobby Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 He may have played for Celtic but he's a model pro and I can only wish him all the best in his fight against this terrible disease. Get well soon fella Quote
Flannel Truscott Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Horrible news, horrible disease. The acute bit doesn't sound good, but I'm no doctor so I hope I'm wrong. Get well lad. Someone should pay a visit to them red issue cunts. If that club had a modicum of class they would do something about it. Quote
onefinfrandsen Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Sad news and he only found out himself yesterday, he must be brave going to the game so soon after finding out, think id want to lock my self away . good luck stan you will beat it. Quote
MickyD Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 (edited) Acute is just a medical definition of time. EDIT = That's not intended to dismiss the severity of this illness. I wish the bloke well. Edited March 31, 2012 by MickyD Quote
wovlad Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Lost my father to leukemia, it truly is a terrible, terrible disease. I wish Stan a speedy recovery.. i should have added, after saying that I lost my father to this disease. It was over 30 years ago & the improvements made in this area of medicine have been incredible, absolutely incredible. Stan has a far better chance of surviving this than my Father had. Thanks to Charities like Cancer / Leukemia Research & places like Christies Hospital, who have improved peoples chances of survival 100x over. I wouldn't wish this disease on my own worst enemy, come on Stan lad keep the faith and you can survive this, we believe in miracles, Fab is proof of that. Quote

Krimzon Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Fuckin cancer, Its a horrible fucking thing made up of pure evil. God Bless Stan and I hope you pull thru it. Cancer research is massively underfunded for the worlds number 1 killer , pity we cant pump the billions into it like we did for aids, but we are not as shit scared of cancer as its not the doomsday disease. shytalk Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 This disease can be beaten. What should have been a magnificent celebration of a weekend turned into a nightmare for my family. I travelled to Cardiff in 2001 with my 11 year old daughter for the play off final against Preston. We all know the outcome of the match. Sitting next to my kid and getting excited was not rubbing off on her. She seemed down, lethargic and altogether not well. The week later she was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). Thanks to her mother, a nurse, who overruled the GP diagnosis of glandular fever, and took her to Pendlebury. We caught it early. She is now 22 and been in remission for some 10 years. I am very proud of the way, as an 11 yearold, she fought this disease to fulfil a normal University life. Through countless transfusions and chemo therapy. I know the age difference doesnt help but COME ON STAN, YOU CAN BEAT THIS. Quote
HomerJay Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Well done to little miss shytalk And those who undoubtably helped her along the way Quote
jayjayoghani Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 diagnosis came about indirectly as a result of Muamba's cardiac arrest http://www.metro.co....muamba-collapse Petrov's Spanish team-mate Carlos Cuellar told Spanish radio station COPE: 'Last Tuesday, after what happened to Muamba, experts came to our training ground to do tests on us and examine our hearts. 'Two days later, we received the results and they communicated to Stan his symptoms of cancer Quote
