  • He was really an RMI man but took me to the bright lights. Top parenting there. He wasn't wired up right if I'm honest, but that's no bad thing

Southampton, night match at the dell, fa cup replay.

92 Ish

Got to the ground at half time, lost on pens I think

I was only 8

it was wolves away all i was young and don't remember the year or score all i remember is that we went into a boozer and it ended up kickin off in there

Wrexham, either New Years day or Boxing day, early 80's/late 70's

Memory ain't what is was - remember Whatmore scored though.

Cant remember which was my first away...

But my earliest away memories are Wigan away on a night game around 1990..

Bury away in the play offs.

Going to Wembley on a matress in the back of my Dads bright yellow siera van for Tranmere.

And Rotherham away when Tony Cunningham scored.

Man Utd in FA Cup in late 80s I think. Glory hunter.

Got back to the coach after the game with my Dad and it had gone, apparently it'd been trashed. Then had to get on the train. Was scared shitless yet loving the tension/excitement of it all.

Bury away in the play offs.

.. and that was my 2nd away game :D

fucking clueless

hth

First away game was at Nottingham forest in the FA cup 1967 when Forest won 4-2. Lots of Wanderers fans there that day.

Blackpool 67/68.

I'm not sure but I'm thinking either Oldham in the league around mid 70s probably 74 or 75 or it could have been the 1-0 win at Huddersfield in FA Cup.

Mine was Wembley against Bristol City Lost 0-3

My first proper away match then was Scarborough Lost 0-4

The only way was up!

Oldham in the snow, 1978 I think

Grimsby, the 3-3 one. Was that 94?

Charlton Away - We won 2-1 (Pedersen and Nolan)

Charlton had just sold Scott Parker, I think.

Since then I've done, I'd say, an average of 7 aways a season.

First proper away day was away at QPR when we were locked in the boozer near the ground

Bloomfield road on that fateful day, 24 August 1974.

I'd have to refer to someone with a far better memory than me! Earliest away recollection is Blackpool around 74/75ish.

Scarborough, first away game in the 4th division, away end was full, mad day out!

Blackburn away mid-90's. Dont remember much of it apart from we got beat.

West brom away early nineties. One nil to them. Andy hunt scoref.

Huddersfield away in the cup about 1974. I went with the brother in law on a coach from the place that used to be next to the Black Horse in Farnworth.

Fulham away about 75-76, not sure about home debut.

Portsmouth 3rd round fa cup 1995. Lost 3-1. Home debut 1986 beat Newport County 4-0

Blackburn 3 Bolton 1, first day of 76/7 season. Noel Brotherston tore us apart.

Oldham not sure if it was 1973 or 1975 but it was the game that a load of City and United fans turned up in the Chaddy End.
