Exiled Girl
I had more of an idea where they were than Porter & Boardman once they got inside the M25 on the way back. Knew Cav was buggered once they hit Hampton Court and the Kingston one way system (which they went partly the wrong way round & cut out the difficult bit) Edited July 28, 2012 by Exiled Girl
darwen_white
With no one knowing what was going on, Cavendish could've just waited in Richmond Park for the riders returning, in time for the sprint
maaarsh
Just got back from Box Hill. Â Fucking nackered and disappointed. Controlled it well but a terrible tactical error to let so many go across to the break on the last ascent, and then unsurprising that 6 fresh riders beat 6 flogged riders. Moderators Carlos Posted July 29, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 29, 2012 Surely it makes all the difference as you can have a breather, ease up and let the lactic acid dissipate a bit?

maaarsh
Eh? Typo? Â Just giving an enthusiastic estimate based on rolling resistance - clearly most groupsets would struggle to sustain that sort of damage so I imagine the transmission loss would get quite painful. Site Supporter only1swanny Posted July 29, 2012 Site Supporter Share Posted July 29, 2012 struggling to top 50 with most groupsets, its more to do with the cadence than anything else, its just not humanly possible to top those speeds with a normal groupset. Site Supporter HomerJay Posted July 29, 2012 Author Site Supporter Share Posted July 29, 2012 10t on the rear  And 1000t on the front, be the size of a wheel  May take a while to get going though
Site Supporter only1swanny Posted July 29, 2012 Site Supporter Share Posted July 29, 2012 you would need more teeth on the back than whats on the front.. Â example being to downgear a bike you take two teeth off the front and add two to the back.. Â an average motorbike being 14 on front and 40 on the back
Site Supporter HomerJay Posted July 29, 2012 Author Site Supporter Share Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) And and average road bike is 52 on the front and 11 on the rear. The bigger the front ring, the less revolutions required by the legs. The smaller the rear cog, the smaller amount of chain required to perform a revolution of the wheel. Â Big front, little rear. Â In fact thinking about it you would only need at 400t on the front for 400mph as I can do about 20mph on 18t, 30mph on 28t at 40mph 38t on my bike. Peddling like a daft cunt though. Site Supporter only1swanny Posted July 29, 2012 Site Supporter Share Posted July 29, 2012 yup heads gone.. blame lack of sleep.. Â forgot the method I said adds speed at low cadence but takes away top end speed.. Â If your itk about cycling.. is it more difficult to get a high top end on a compact chainset ??? ErnestTurnip
There's a chance Freeman might start to sing like a canary now he's been hung out to dry and found guilty so there'll be heroes with SKY tops in frames on their walls shitting bricks I reckon. Inside knowledge - that stretch of road gets more spent on it by the landscaping division of Bolton council than the whole of Farnworth and Great Lever. Fact.
