KJones scored but Shawcross conceded another pen with 4 mins left. Murray scored. Both teams had used all subs within 80 mins so there may have been players taking knocks but staying on. In the first half of extra time Walters scored twice (both for Stoke) and Jerome added a late goal to give a 4-1aet result. Probably about the best outcome from a Bolton point of view. Palace should have led, but didn't. Second penalty forced extra time with no further subs possible, and they were well beaten in the end. Quote
