Site Supporter barryk32 Posted November 11, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted November 11, 2013 I picked 2 Hudl's up Friday. Not had a play yet but the specs are better than everything else in its price range
Gonk
I got one for 58 quids worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers and 3 quid. It's good. It's very near a stock android model, with just a few Tesco widgets which can all be disabled.
Henry_VIII
Been offered S4 mini with a samsung tablet or a Nexus 5 with another tab that I can't remember now.... Wanted a S4 but might go for the mini.... What's the Nexus 5 like? Thoughts & opinions welcome.... Cheers

mickbrown
Found it - it is indeed locked to Tesco.
Bigtoe
Seems you can get a cheap unlock for less than a tenner
mickbrown
I'm on GiffGaff which piggybacks the O2 network. Tesco also uses the O2 network so I'm good to go (I think)
Bigtoe
Me too but it seems like these are sim locked to Tesco and a Giffgaff sim won't work without the unlock. I picked the phone up today but not had it out of the box yet. Hotukdeals saying CAN BE UNLOCKED FOR £5.10 HERE (Confirmed) http://www.movical.net/liberar-movil_motorola_moto-g.html

Bigtoe
Will do, its also a micro sim, so just had to order one! I've had the phone out of the box, already has the Tesco sim in it. First impressions are really good. Great screen, fast as anything, good build quality, doesn't look a low cost phone, I think the downside maybe the camera, its still fine, but what do you want for 60 quid. Eddie
Apologies if this has already been answered but I've read through the thread and I don't think it has specifically. I'm after a tablet of some sort predominately for watching films whilst flying or on the train. Things like linking up to a tv would be good but the main thing is the film watching, a decent screen, ease of whacking films on, memory for a good amount of films, half decent battery life etc. I'm an iPhone and Mac wanker so have thought about the iPad just to link them together really but I don't think I need an iPad for the little amount I'd use it for. I'm not looking to spend daft money, under £200 would be perfect but I'd spend more if it means getting something half decent. Can anyone point me in the direction of a tablet that would suit my needs please, it would be much appreciated Edited November 27, 2013 by Eddie

Eddie
Tesco's Hudl will do the job. Cheers daz, I've just had a look around the internet it and it seems like it's got everything I need and at a very reasonable price. Is there a catch? Can anybody that's got one give a quick recommendation? There's plenty of reviews on the internet but I trust wanderswaysers more
DazBob
No catch as far as I can see. Tomski's bought a couple so maybe he can comment..?

I've read more and more and it seems your right and there is no catch. Think I'll go and have a look at one in store but at that price I can't see any problems. Cheers again

Seems like the biggest problem could be getting hold of one, out of stock on the website (unless I want a purple one) probably due to christmas but I don't need it until late January so I might just have to wait. Well, I've just ordered one online and will be able to pick it up from the Tesco petrol station on Bradford St which is only about half a mile from where I live. Happy days. http://www.tesco.com/direct/hudl/ Haven't been given a delivery date yet but I'd be very surprised if it's not delivered before Christmas. Casino's right. Once you get it, download the Utorrent app and also MX player. The world is then your lobster and you'll be free to download filums and music from the millions of torrent sites that are out there. If you've not done this before and are unsure then just give us a shout when you've got your mitts on the tablet and I'll walk you through it. Site Supporter barryk32 Posted November 28, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted November 28, 2013 I've got 2 for the kids. Belting for the price, links to the tv, easily added memory, responsive screen. Catch is its a bit bloated with Tesco shit but its a price worth paying.

Site Supporter barryk32 Posted November 28, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted November 28, 2013 The widgets can, the other stuff can but with an awful lot of fucking about. You have to remove it from the programming. Not worth the risk of bricking it
