Youri McAnespie Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 The tramps in Retiro Park or San Mames bus station are probably supping better than most cracking open a bottle of £5 stuff here in the UK. Quote
Bigtoe Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 25 percent off 6 bottles of wine beer or cider at m and s. 2 bottles of silver medal plonk a couple of cornish heritage ciders and a couple of craft beers cost me 13 quid earlier. Quote
Traf Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 it's worth bearing in mind that a bottle of wine that costs £7.00 £5.08 of it is tax, duty, VAT and the retailer's cut. For a £5 bottle, only 81p is the cost from the winemaker. Whereas, on a £15 bottle, £6 of the cost is from the winemaker. You get what you pay for. So, your fellow Horridgers who regale us with tales of fine Aldi wines are actually drinking piss? Quote

Spider Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) Get on this stuff Cas, it is dirt cheap for the quality. Anything with a "penetrating finish" has to be good. http://www.slurp.co.uk/wine-gifts/gifts-for-her/40074-some-young-punks-passion-has-red-lips-2013/ Edited October 15, 2015 by Spider Quote

Maggie Tate Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I know this is the wine thread but I have to report that I have reached beer nirvana - this is the finest I have ever supped. It's an 11% stout which tastes like a Snickers. Beg, steal or borrow. Quote

Whites man Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Some cloth eared batman in Birmingham gave me a pint of a similarly strong Imperial stout instead of a regular porter after several hours on the lash at the test match this summer. Quote
Exiled Girl Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Was on Barbera D'Alba last night Head hurty today Best bottle of Barbera D'Alba that I've had was in a bar in Rome. I'm off the red at the moment as I've a cold & it's making the decent stuff that I've enjoyed before taste tinny. Port's OK though. Got some sloe gin with added port yesterday, looking forward to trying it. Quote
MancWanderer Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Carmenere is my absolute favourite red. Only discovered it this year Quote
