I do hope that no pictures of that embarrassment of a 'protest' make it to press. That makes us look more small time than any logo on our shirt ever could.

It's amazing how many people were apoplectic with rage on social media, but when it comes to the crunch and actually getting off their arses to show how disgusted they are, well, the picture says it all. Not a single bedsheet in sight either. Tsk.

Personally I've not signed a pointless petition, nor would I bother taking time away from the working to go and listen to the local MP jumping a bandwagon.

What I will do is avoid giving any money to the club for anything that's Quick Quid related. If everyone did the same, that would send a bigger message to the club than any number of bedsheets.

Social media is the the cop out. Liking and unliking, moaning on Twitter, it has no effect. Something else will soon come along to replace the moan. Killing off shirt sales (for example) does have an effect.

Ms Creasy told the Bolton news “To get this many people here after only 24 hours shows how angry people are.”

60 fucking people!

aye, but i'd guess we don't sell more than 5k shirts

even at 10 quid a pop, which I doubt, thats 50k

i would conced the publicity is unfortunate, but i'm still confident it was financially a good decision

I'd doubt it... I've heard M's opinion and it's like mine doesn't give a fuck what orange logo is on front.. His words were "the bolton badge is my heart"

Ta, thought not ... as neither of the comments I saw ended with "We'll shit um" :D

Point still stands though. Losing shirt sales and pulling minor sponsorship (for example) is more effective than any number of social media moans.

Social media is a cop out - that's why genuine protest across the board has died off. People think they have 'done their bit' by ticking a box on a website. Companies (including BWFC) know they can ride it in a couple of days.

See Kevin Davies as a prime recent example.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. The heart is in the badge but until this sponsorship deal is over my heart will be in the badge of one of my retro shirts. I've got an extensive collection so there's plenty to have a go at. Anybody remember chanting "Come on you purple" or bellowing "Yellow, yellow, yellow" at away games

It's more than the number who turned up for the Nat Lofthouse memorial service in Horwich a few months ago.

The "yellow" chant was quite common, and, IIRC, popular

Can't believe an MP travelled all the way from Walthamstow to take part in that. Sure she must have more important things to do to justify her salary.

Fucking rules!
