Guest Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 No Money? The amount Freedman paid for Spearing smashed Tranmere's transfer record 3 times over... And Bale's is 57 x that of Spearing Quote
ChrisC Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 DF proved last season in the Championship he can do well OC proved in the Premiership he can do well OC also proved he can't do well the Premiership OC proved he can't do it in the Championship (with Bolton) DF is doing worse so far than what OC did at this stage last season It was OKAY to slag OC off and he deserved it but say anything about DF and Bolton now and it's all stop throwing your prams out and let's pretend we don't have 2 points from 12 a -4 goal difference and are out of the cup to a lower team. We have been missing Eagles since the first game. If you think back to our start under Coyle, Eagles was carrying the side, scoring the goals and getting the assists. Some might not like it, but Eagles is a massive player for us. Quote
Horwich Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 He cant moan about being down on numbers in the sqaud, then not use the loan system. Quote
Boothy Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Eaves looked absolutely fucked after about 65 - 70 minutes. He actually looked delirious at points. Not a scapegoat by any means, but he should have come off for me around that point. Moritz looked class, confident first touch and passing for his first half hour but struggled to beat a man when he picked it up at the edge of the box. Mills didn't look too bad but seems to struggle reading movement and sent a few balls wayward. Didn't look hungry enough all over the field for me again. Glad Beckford bagged one though. Quote
Plums Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 There's no way any sane individual can want rid of doogy yet! Surely. We can be pissed off with a crap result though can't we?! Reorganise and go forward.. Quote
Casino Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 He cant moan about being down on numbers in the sqaud, then not use the loan system. he will use the loan system he just said he didn't like it the problem is that the players he wants to take on loan don't want to move just yet once their options are limited by the window shutting, we'll see movement imo Quote
Arrested development Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Lonergan....not much to do, but no mistakes Mears....Decent game, crossing let him down Mills...solid defensively, distribution poor Knight...same as mills but costly mistake Baptiste...Kept it simple, fairly solid. Vela....decent, good in possession, Medo....Solid enough, didn't create much though Pratley....worked hard but ineffective Hall....some good things but similar to prats Odelusi...not involved enough, ineffective Eaves...poor first touch, worked hard though. Moritz....changed game, assist for Beckford. Beckford...got goal, looked lively. Youngs....good cameo, some nice touches Overall first half not good enough. Too defensive and too much long ball. Second half much better. Created plenty, should have scored more. Need to keep the ball on the floor as we don't win enough headers or have a physical presence without Craig Davies. Quote
Traf Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 When do the PL clubs have to name their 25-man squads? That is the day that the loan situation will become much clearer. The fans and the manager all want Dawson to return. WBA seem unwilling to sell and we're unwilling/unable to fund a sale anyway. However, he's unlikely to make their 25 and will need to play football somewhere. My guess is that he'd prefer to come back here for a variety of reasons (not all to do with football) Quote
Sweep Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 When do the PL clubs have to name their 25-man squads? That is the day that the loan situation will become much clearer. I've just had a look, and apparently they have to declare theur 25 man squads at the time of the transfer window closing - so as mentioned by yourself and Cassie, I would expect any loan moves to start happening during the first week of September. Ghana White Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 We'll come good, think it's not gonna be a pretty season though. Freedman seems to want to grind out a result no matter who we play, Barcelona or the red lion. Having said that how can you grind out a result when knight is guaranteed to give them a goal every couple of games. I still fancy playoffs. Quote
bwfc2003 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Isn't there a gap between transfer window closing and loan window re opening ? Quote
anewman Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Folk are quick to forget what a great run we had for the last third of last season but I will concede that we appear to be playing like the side Dougie first inherited which is frustrating. I also hate to say it as it was coyles get out of jail card but we need some bodies back to help out I hope wheats is ok. And ZK well I've said my piece he's played in 5-6 years worth of back 4's all of which we're varying from poor to utter shite he IS the common denominator Yeah and the football was dire and plenty mistakes were made inlcuding the blackpool game which ultimately cost us a play off spot Quote
captainmed Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 We were second favs to win the league 4 games ago and now people are justifying thus awful strart by saying the club is rebuilding etc... This blind faith in DF surprises me. What will it take for people to realise he is not the man. We are 4th bottom of the league FFS and knocked out of the cup by a team bottom of theirs or as near as dammit. Perhaps people will be angrier if we lose at Blackburn and take our plight more seriously. Quote
Boothy Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Absolutely pathetic. Four!!! games into the new season ffs. Quote
Carlos Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 We were second favs to win the league 4 games ago Where? I think you are making this stat up. Garp? Quote

DaisyHWanderer Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 It was quite surprising to see our fans stay and clap/sing the players and manager off last night, it seems the majority of the boo boys don't travel away Quote

This blind faith in DF surprises me. What will it take for people to realise he is not the man. For some on here it took the moment he was announced as manager to realise 'he is not the man.' Dress it up with all the faux disgust and outrage, I'm sure some get more pleasure from us doing shite and being able to sit back and say "Didn't I tell you so? I told you he/we is/are shite!" Like other posters have alluded to, those who actually went to the game are far from sticking their heads in the oven, stayed to clap them off did someone say? I'll take their opinion over the usual naysayer suspects (and a surprising one or two who've joined with them). Quote

Maybe recognition of arguably deserving to win the game? Quote
DaisyHWanderer Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Must admit it surprised me as well. Maybe recognition of arguably deserving to win the game? I've not seen them since but i think many felt that at least one of the 3 'goals' that werent goals, should've stood. Also people realise booings not gunna do any good, maybe some praise will spur them on (deservedly or not) Quote

Also people realise booings not gunna do any good, maybe some praise will spur them on (deservedly or not) Obviously being stood behind the goal it wasn't easy to tell, but I certainly thought the third one was in, it didn't look offside to me. I would obviously have to see it on telly though to be sure. Changing to a proper 442 made the difference, fuck knows why we wanted to start with only 1 up front against a third division team, especially with a fairly immobile forward. Quote
gonzo Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 This blind faith shit really annoys me. Just because I'm not en route to leyland paints for a tin of black emulsion with one of my mums old bed sheets, does that diagnose me with blind faith? Do you really think anyone on here that's saying give the bloke time thinks that Dougie freedman is the next Jose and he's going to lead us out of the wilderness and have us in the champions league in 3 seasons flat? It's all about putting things into perspective and looking at te situation rationally. Something I don't think any of you moon men are capable of doing. We have played 4 league games this season,if we were to sack Dougie freedman on the back of 2 losses in 4 games we would be the laughing stock of European football and the LMA would launch and investigation. It's the talk of the clinicly insane. If by Christmas we are still nowhere further then yes,I think the situation may need addressing. But please give up with this happy clapper blind faith bull shit,it's beyond pathetic and a childish retort to cover your own irrational behaviour. Quote

burnden Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 i think we'd all have hoped for some improvement - and we may well still see it what some of us are saying is that his results last year and his good (mostly) signings mean that a few disappointing and one bad result should not lead to shit about sacking the manager I'm not disputing any of that casino, for me the way we have started this season is worrying though, the players have looked like strangers in parts of games so far ......I am shocked at the lack of structure/fitness and expected better from dougie after almost a year in charge and a close season to work on it......as you say we may well still see that in time ...... lets hope we muller the dingles saturday and kick start the season .
