Winter/snow Watch 2013/14

Get your thermals on

Next month sees the start of severe weather hitting our glorious country and hopefully cutting Scotland adrift from us.

My mucker up there who works for the Met Office, says November will bring very bad snowfalls and possibly record low temperatures for that time of the year.

He was pretty accurate re the nce summer we had and is adamant this winter will be severe.

All goes back to the ''blockers'' he told me about early this year.

The world is ending.

Can you not sit in a cafe and watch dozy gets trying to walk along the prom, there's bound to be some.

I'm fairly sure the roof at work is about to collapse on my head.

Just seen one bloke riding towards the prom with a west wind of 58 mph the fucking loon.

Not a pisscan in sight in town early doors.

I'd like to think they're all huddled together in some sheltered enclave, were they can keep warm and swap tales of trampyness

If you stand at the end of the north pier, will you get blown off?

Maybe singing Xmas carols round a burning barrel in a back alley with steam blowing out of buildings?

Or does that only happen in the filums?

if you ask him nicely

Invasion of that mad foam shit now.

It's terribly grim and grey in Leyth

And the weather isn't great either. I have a feeling the drive home tonight could be fun

It's absolutely lashing it down with rain and hail here and the wind's about 50mph.

The dog isn't happy, she's been staring through the window and crying for the last half hour.

I'm going to have go and let her in soon.

M60 shut at Barton Bridge, overturned lorry.

I would, you might see Olimong.

Rain's stopped but still very windy here. Garden looks like someone's been chucking patio furniture all over.

Nice one was gonna head back that way. This sounds daft but some bloke has just given way and flown in to me in Manchester. First thing I checked was my wallet. Its still their.

Still shut.

As is the M66 northbound now because some other prossie murderer couldn't keep his lorry upright.

Oh, and M6 at Thelwall is also shut in both directions for the same reason.

Presume they're now empty though? Sorted.

We've just sandbagged the doors and lifted the electrical equipment off the floor in preperation for a tidal wave about to hit the River Dee

Not much of an over reaction here.....
