I had friends over from Australia who love RL recently, so I took them to the Leigh v London Broncos game.

Stood in the terrace behind the goal ( which was an experience in itself) there were quite a few who had come from the Macron stood around me, in Bolton shirts etc, but i actually got some grief for being from Bolton off some pissed up twat and told what was I doing in Leigh, he told my friends that of all the places in England they shouldn't go it's Bolton as its full of wankers and we were as bad as Wiganers!

Think he was a minority, worked in Leigh for 20 odd years and never heard of any sort of hatred or rivalry before, just that they hate Wigan, it quite surprised me the level of his vitriol towards Bolton.

Never known any mither towards Bolton folk from Leythers in all my time. Must have been a one off.

Next home game (Saturday 17th) is free. Bolton are away so if you're not going

I'll not be at either game. #shittestfanever

Thinly veiled "getting RUINED by my new cockney fella" post.

I'll be in Poland watching the Whites.

Well done Smiffs / leigh

He was probably some urinal. Huge bolton following at leigh but there's always one nobhead. I got the same in reverse at the legends game this summer from some prick who asked me where I was from. I've got scabs older than him but he did look a bit special in fairness.

I loved watching Des Drummond and John Woods play against Salford, they were very special players

Certainly were mate and the era I first started watching them. Also an era where going to the willows was a tough ask...not many years since the likes of Steve Nash and David watkins. Remember Steve blakely signing there as a Leigh lad with Craig Randall and Scott Martin thinking they were going to a much bigger club. Moving them from the willows would he like moving Leigh to Cadishead!

It was a golden era for sure. Watkins was unplayable on his day and still holds our record of scoring in 95 consecutive games. Keith Fielding and Maurice Richards were some players too. I can remember when Alex Murphy took over in '78 and we thought we could dominate rugby league but alas that wouldn't be the case. Many happy memories for fans of both teams without doubt

Dickheads in every town, but in RL you can mix in the same pubs anywhere sporting your colours.

There won't be many Wigan fans in the moonraker next season surely? :)

Wondered why there was massive queues at the ticket office today.

That explains it.

Lad goes to college at Leigh Sports Village, picked four up.

I think it's good marketing to find new supporters for next season.

No idea how Hull KR, having finished 4th (I think) are playing a winner takes all to stay in the Super League.

They finished 11th of 12 in the regular season, behind Salford.

They are fourth in this mini league with the bottom end of the prem and the top of the championship
