bolty58 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 So, have we any hope? Brain says no fucking chance but heart hopes we have. Just like the Brisbane Ashes test being regarded down here as 'one start' for them each time it's here, they regard the RL world championship as theirs by right so it would be the ultimate slap down to win this on their soil. Here's hoping but not expecting the thugbies to emulate our RU heroes. Quote

The best solution would be to fly out his nephew in his stead. Quote
seasoned Traveller Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 We shouldn't even be in that final, last score was a try all day long. Quote
Escobarp Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Was a loose carry. No way that would or should have been given in my opinion Quote
Salford Trotter Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I could see both sides tbh but we got the rub of the green this time. We will need another seismic effort in the final to even get close to the Aussies Quote
Escobarp Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Defensively we can contain them I think for large portions of the game. I’m just not sure we have the cutting edge to score enough points. Other than our forwards through the middle we seem to be unable to do much apart from mcgillveray who has been excellent. Keep it close and hope for mistakes to snatch it I think is best I can hope for Quote
Sweep Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 When is the final, will it be open normal telly? Quote
LeggyMountbatten Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Half eight on Saturday morning on BBC one Quote

MancWanderer Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 As per the last 30 years I'll watch a "decider/big game" with the Aussies with lots of hope that will undoubtedly be dashed Quote
bolty58 Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 I'll make the effort and watch it. You never know there might be a Foinavon moment. Aye - 100/1 shots do get up on rare occasions. Here's hoping. Quote
Sweep Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Empty seats For a World Cup Final.. ..blimey, that is a bit poor. It must be a worry for them if the biggest game of them all can't sell out Quote
Escobarp Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 England in this 100%. Just need more composure in attacking positions Quote
L/H White Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 I know little about rugby but they should have converted one of those chances surely? Quote
Escobarp Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Yeah that’s been the problem all tournament for me not finishing off great chances Quote
Escobarp Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 For a World Cup Final.. ..blimey, that is a bit poor. It must be a worry for them if the biggest game of them all can't sell out It’s sadly not the biggest game of them all as far as the Aussie public are concerned. State of origin is the be all and end all for most Quote
Escobarp Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Phenomenal effort that it really was. Just sadly lacking when It mattered near the try line. Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Good final that, they were really hanging on Quote
Ghana White Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Bloody hell that was close. Fingertip tackle away from it. Few better decisions at the end as well the opening were there. Quote
Casino Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Looked like a forward pass in the middle of that last play but first glance it was about 6 on 1 and mcgillivray should've done better Quote
