Great win by Leigh today at Salford, first time they have won there for forty years

Championship a realistic prospect?

I don't know, I don't go watching them, my mates and grandson does, I watch them on telly and I would love them to do well, I think Catalans are too strong, be great if they beat Saints next week to get to Wembley

What a result today. Wonder who they want in the final?

Wigan. Might as well after reaching this stage. Plus weirdly, now that Halifax are in the 1895 final, if Wigan get there then my entire stag do WhatsApp group will all be playing at Wembley on the same day.

I didn’t go to the semi as I was working, and in all honesty I’ve been having such a wrestle with all the rebrand bollocks that the Salford game last week was the first one I’ve been to all season. But I reckon the previous 31 years have earned me the right to enjoy Wembley, so that’s exactly what I’ll do (albeit a bit annoyed I’ll miss Cheltenham away now)

Don’t follow RL, but nice surprise to see Leigh 2nd in the table, in the cup final and mostly Lancashire clubs in the top half of the table.

I’m exactly the same not a big RL fan, but really chuffed for Leigh. 👏

Leigh are the team I watched for a brief RL phase I went through some years ago. Fuck Wigan all the way to fuck and back.

Delighted for all involved, especially our own Mr O

Wonder if leigh fans are disappointed its not their hugely succesful neighbours in the final, or is this seen as a more likely win

Fantastic drop goal today

I was genuinely disappointed. Never going to play there again in my lifetime so might as well have made it as big an occasion as that. Particularly as it would have meant my entire stag do would have been represented that day with a Leigh-Wigan final and Halifax in the 1895 final. Means the train down will be much quieter though!

Seen Leigh and Bolton lift trophies at Wembley inside a few months of each other. Don’t want to wake up.

Fair play to you and the rest of the Leythers who have been through thin & thin over the years.
