My worst experience as a Bolton fan, not helped by a nobhead from school- formally a Munich but now a Stoke fan like his Dad somehow getting hold of my number and texting me shit throughout the game. I saw him after the match and nearly ended up decking the prick.

That day didnt happen. Has been wiped from my memory.

My last live game before I emigrated.

 

Watched us beat Arsenal the week after... that's the one I remember.

Terrible day...... Gonk showed up.

While it was most definitely their day and everything they hit seemed to go in, some of them goals were absolutely attrocious. So typical of Coyle's inept tactics or lack of. I heard Kevin Davies on the radio the other week talking up his mate Sean Dyche as being someone he imagines who works hard on the training ground and garners respect from his dressing room, and then went onto mention how relaxed training and tactics were under Coyle.

 

As for the goals, regardless of it being on his weaker foot, what on earth was Robinson thinking passing it across his the edge of his own box in a crowded area?! 

How did Kenwynne Jones ghost in unnoticed for the third which killed us off? He was the only man forward FFS. Steinsson must've known he was in behind and just ignored him.

 

The fifth was just calamitous defending. Jones gets it across with ease, they have a man free who misses the ball 6 yards out, and yet they still have Walters in behind who gets lucky with the deflection. 

 

On the other hand, the second was fortunate that it dropped to Huth and Walters took the fourth really well, but it was their day and everything just went their way.

 

And that settles it, together with the Ipswich play off final and Deano's miss at Wembley, I'm never watching that again. 

A great day out ruined by football.

Today was the first time I'd watched the goals back. Wish I hadn't, just got really fed up. Horrific, depressing, gut-wrenching, miserable and so on...

We had a great weekend though. Supping champagne on a balcony whilst watching the marathon on the morning of the match full of hope and expectation was the highlight.

I lost a lot of enthusiasm/passion for the game around that point and haven't really gone to many matches since.

 

Starting to get a little bit of back recently as my daughter wants to go more and more and reading about our hardcore away following is rekindling my desire to go again.

London was forgiven after we beat QPR 4-0. Thanks to Anewman for last minute train ticket... It was a glorious opportunity, and real eye opener
