Big E Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Think the Garvan guy a replacement for Davies, very depressing that Burnley cherry pick our best players, now if we'd kept Dawson for another couple of weeks on loan wonder where we'd be now. Monumental fuck up. Is that the same loan deal that West Brom wouldn't allow us to extend? Quote
Guest Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Is that the same loan deal that West Brom wouldn't allow us to extend? Wasn't it that the rules wouldn't allow us to extend? Quote
Bigtoe Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Davies going doesnt bother me. 3m for an injury prone midfielder is probably the best we can get. If fit then more like 5m. Its the worry that this clown might get that money to bring more stumps in. Quote
Eddie Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Cash in! We all know how good he is but what's the point when we only have him for 10-15 games a season? £3m profit on sale and it must be £1m a year off the wage bill. If dougies right and we are currently at the £8m loss target then that should mean the majority of the £4m can be spent Quote
EyesRight Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Hope we stick a sell on clause on the Davies deal just in case in he can stay fit for a season, his value would shoot up. Quote
tylswhite Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 3 million for what is effectively nothing is good business. I cant even remember what he fucking looks like. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Wasn't it that the rules wouldn't allow us to extend? Stay away from this board with your facts! This is purely a place to rubbish both manager and club. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Is that the same loan deal that West Brom wouldn't allow us to extend? DF never asked as the original agreement was to finish before the end of the season, any one in any business would have asked the question, but not DF and what a disaster that was as it was our best chance for probably the next 10 years maybe 20 years to get promotion. tomski Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Will they give Dougie the cash if they are considering potting him (don't know if they are or not) I think due to circumstances I'd keep him. Not convinced we'd spend more than 500k of it. Quote
HazzyinBolton Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Selling anybody for any money is pointless - Dougie won't be given the money to spend. We need swap deals. Quote
Eddie Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Just seen that Birmingham are interested in Ben Arfa on loan. I didn't think there'd be a chance of him dropping to the champ but if we did sell Davies then it would give us the cash to challenge for a deal like this Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) 3 million for what is effectively nothing is good business. I cant even remember what he fucking looks like. A fat chewatt - that's what (see picture below), toe injury or not, he could still use the exercise bike, has Dougie not replaced them from Coyle's reign of terror? His mam's also been let loose with the pinking shears and pudding basin an' all by the looks of it. Edited September 1, 2014 by Youri McAnespie Quote

Carlos Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 We are going to be paying him wages for another 3+ years to be crocked aren't we? Quote
frank_spencer Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Wasn't it that the rules wouldn't allow us to extend? Yup it was a 3 month loan rather than a rest of the season loan as iirc it went through outside the transfer window. Quote
mickbrown Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I wouldn't let Dougie near a piggy bank let alone a £3m transfer kitty. Quote
Big E Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Wasn't it that the rules wouldn't allow us to extend? Yes you are right. Quote
tylswhite Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 We are going to be paying him wages for another 3+ years to be crocked aren't we? Has he got that long left? I wonder how much he is actually costing us. We cant afford to be carrying people like that. He's never going to be fit in this league for long with legs made of yoghurt. Quote

It was a maximum of a 3 month loan which ended the week before the season finished We could theoretically have extended it on an emergency basis i.e if say wheater, knight and ream got injured. Quote
Take Hunt Off Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 As long we bring in a couple ie someone capable of holding the ball up & someone else to pass the ball forward more than two yards I 'll be happy Quote

Do you think someone like Allardyce would at least try to have a go at bending the rules to get him until after the play offs, the fact is he did not even try. Quote

My understanding is that all loans outside the windows are limited to 90 days Which is why we could only have mason for 57? Days in his second spell last season If you read the regs, there is no way Dawson could've stayed any longer I don't know that DF realised that, mind Quote
Rembrandt Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 All these discussuions about who we might sign, or sell, or get fit, or get unfit, or swap ................... just look what DF has done with the players he's had over the last 2 years. Player changes look pointless to me. Quote
