Scared Of Us....

Serious question, if someone asked you what team you support, you'd think hooligan !

Indeed, it is most odd to think that. I'm dealing with a new supplier (he's well fit) & we've had the 'who do you support' conversation. It's a great icebreaker. He's burnley so there's the bonus of #topbants

20 years since Ive gone fuck it Im doing an all dayer on me todd.

So today I set of at noon, went into Blackburn had a pint or so, bus into Accy had a pint or so, back into Blackburn for a pint or so, into Burnley for a ....well you get the idea  ..... then out into the sticks for a pint or so, then home for a pint or so.

In every pub I went into, and I made it a mission to go into pubs Id never been in before, I was asked

"who are ya?" meaning which team.

In all the Blackburn pubs they were getting antsy cos they thought I might be Burnley.

In all the Burnley pubs they got antsy cos they though I might be Blackburn etc etc etc

In every pub when I said I was Bolton , they all backed right off and asked who I knew.

I made up some bollocks names and watched as they all nodded.

Now admittedly these weren't hardcore pubs but rough enough.

And they were all in the same mind of not giving the "Bolton lad" any shit.

Laughed my tackle off after id been in every one !

ps dropped the quiz machine in 2 different pubs .

Being a bit pedantic, but how come you went to Blackburn first then Accy, then back to Blackburn again before going to Burnley ? Mind, i do daft routes after a skinfull around the country.

Leigh.... (quote button wont work for me)

That's fair enough mate, I live just outside Blackburn, Used to live in Accy and grew up in Burnley, it was a bit like " Im gonna go home from here" then thought " fuck it, Ill carry on and Ive not been round there for a bit" etc.

It was 'all round the houses' but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Diddles : Im no hard man and people will tell you I certainly don't 'look the part' It just amused me the responses I kept getting and it made me feel a bit smug to be honest.

I remember being on Preston station about 20 years ago and got talking to this big skinhead type who did look the fuckin part. He was a Wolves fan who went to Burnley when Wolves were away (I couldn't figure it out either) but when I asked if he had ever been to Burnden Park the answer I got was "No mate too rough up there".....

I may be shallow as they come but me chest got a bit puffed out and I was pleased with his reaction........maybe Im just weird that way.

They sound like a proper supporter but there's always the risk that they'll say they support Utd, in their broad midlands accent. There's nothing worse than having to listen to some plastic who couldn't find Old Trafford on a map.

I do not listen to them, just explain that ilI only watch BWFC and England as I have no interest in anybody else. If they go into telling about them I just switch off until they wait for a response then talk about something completely different. I sit in my local with my back to the big screen when they're on, it saves all the bullshit I reckon. :)

If you mean Alcohol then no, tbh it's not my kind of thing, though i have plenty of times, I certainly wouldn't scare anyone and why would I want to? If people were asking those type of questions I'd probably think hooligans and walk away, though I'd not go into a pub on my own just for a drink.

Bicycle and pile of bibles fodder this lad,.
