madthatter Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I'd love it if we got Lennon. He's just the type of cunt we are in need of at the moment, a cunts cunt and a class manager. Him or Clarke for me, ta. Just no wazzock off the sunshine bus please. Pretty much where i'm at. He may see it as a bit of a step down though so not confident it will happen. I know he's a spiky little so n so but I quite like that in folk to some degree. He's one you'd want on your side anyway which I guess is why I feel he may be the right cnut to galvanise this club. I think Plums is right about Mackay too - never really liked him for some reason but I think he could be a good choice at the minute My gut however, tells me all these morning smoothies are giving me a case of the shits and that Mowbray will be the chosen man Quote

gonzo Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Nothing against Lennon as a person. Never met the bloke and never will. I'd just prefer a manger that hasn't spent his career managing in a pub league and possibly has some championship experience. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 It's nice to receive a small token of recognition for your efforts/achievements, but that trophy is more of an advert for npower than it is an award. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Voted for Mackay earlier today but if not him I'd go with Browny and the more I think about it the more I would like it. It would give us back some of our identity, team him up with Julian Darby. Quote

This league is full of shite, and they don't like it up 'em, we've just spent nearly two years not liking it up us, let's start sticking it up 'em again... Quote
gandalf Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 we've had 2 scottish mangers on the trot think i'd rather have a change. Quote
Razaldo9 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Malky out to 33/1 now. Bookies leaning towards hughton now, who im worried we'll go for. Quote

gonzo Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) Personally I don't get the need for all this whip em into shape and kick em up the arse bollocks. Our problem has been continual basic tactical error which in turn led to the manager losing the trust of the players. A bloke coming in kicking and screaming and shouting the orders is the last thing we need IMO. We need to go back to the drawing board and remember how to play football again. I'd much prefer someone that can come and organise us a proper way. Edited October 9, 2014 by gonzo Quote

Our problem has been continual basic tactical error which in turn led to the manager l Football is indeed a funny old game. Any other trade & slackers, bad attitudes & General shilly shalliers would be out the door but in football's case they're still paid & a boss just has to cope with it. It's fucking annoying when you realise they're grown men Quote
barrycowdrill Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 First & foremost the incoming man needs to earn the respect of the squad, Rioch had it, Sam had it, megson coyle and freedman didn't For me, out of the runners & riders hughton would be more likely than any to fall in to the latter rather than the former category. Don't ask me why, just the vibe I get Nice men don't make good managers Quote
MalcolmW Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Can the ones who don't want Lennon due to his 'IRA sympathies' please provide any evidence? As I said earlier, I've only even heard evidence of him being targeted due to him being a Norn Iron Catholic. I think they may be recalling his stated desire to play for a "united Ireland" team, and concluding that he was a sympathiser. That may or may not be the case, but it was probably not the smartest comment to make. Of course, any Irish player could have had such thoughts, which may imply Republican feelings without in any way meaning IRA (other Republican groups are available, such as SDLP). Quote

It's like a hospital ward infected with MRSA, just when you think it's been eradicated, it rears it's head again, it's a disease and Lennon is the cure... Tolerance of a player, the captain no less, fucking off to Ibiza for a couple of days getting wankered in the season is just one of the more noticeable symptoms of this sickness. Give 'em an inch and they'll take a yard and there'll always be some excuse to deflect from them... Watch what happens with a soft-touch yes man, he could have the tactical acumen of Rinus Michels, he'll have the piss taken. Edited October 9, 2014 by Youri McAnespie Quote
