A glance of the Celtic forums about Lennon is interesting

Some seem gutted he left (due to a lack of financial backing, which is interesting) and reckon he could get a lot out of an average set of players. Others glad to see the back of him and his dismal style of footie. He's big on putting out the same 11 each week though, so expect to see a bingo machine on ebay next week if he gets it.

Seems a risky appointment, that's for sure.

With that in mind, I'm guessing we might go Hughton at the last minute.

You do realise Lennon isn't Scottish?

Unless you were talking about Malky - in which case - carry on.

Senior moment. I should wake up properly before I post.

Well, he's played in English league football anyway.

When did we last have an irish manager (Eire or Norn-Irn) ?

It was a joke for fuck sake

Here's a joke for you, the radio news blurs away with

"Bolton Wanderers have parted company with their manager ********* after a disastrous string of results sees them on the brink of relegation to the third tier of English football..."

Whilst we all sit, head in hands, thinking "how did this happen?" - then we remember, "Oh yeah, that's right - when we should've been appointing the right man, we were all laughing and making jokes..."

:)

Modern day manager in playing his strongest team week in week out shocker?! My eyes!!!!

I'll take his experiences of winning titles, creating a winning culture and CL experiences over any degree of championship experience any day of the week. He'll know what this league is about regardless.

Best candidate by a country mile

Well Owen Coyle was a Scot who played for RoI.

Other than that there is Jimmy McIlroy, who resigned after less than 3 weeks, in 1970.

Why? He fell out with the board, who wanted him to sell to fund any purchases.

Gartside doesn't give a fuck about the fans, his comments on previous appointments prove just that

Would you take advice on lifts from somebody who knows nowt about them

Lennon excites me but worries me at the same time...

Granted he has won the league and cups above the border, and it's 'easy' to do that - but he still has to do it! Ask their current gaffer if it's easy! Gives 110%, committed and won't take any messing from players.

Just his championship experience but... Saying that Allardyce didn't have premiership experience with us and that didn't matter...

He's a winner so for that reason... I'm in!
