anewman Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Very happy with this appointment. All this political/religious crap does not belong in our club. Just go and support Rangers only if matters that much. I'm not from Glasgow so I'll stick with Bolton thanks. It's that simple. I think it would appear more people are pleased with Lennon than pissed off. It's fuck all to do with Rangers It's the fact that he is a supporter of the ira who have planted bombs on our English soil, he is anti British, he openly attends ira band nights with Celtic player Anthony stokes, his brother has been convicted for being an ira associate, he is a horrible little rat Quote
L/H White Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Badly with the Rangers followers and there's quite a few others are just Bolton and think most of them would not be as anti but do we want any disunity? I don't think we need that in any way shape or form. Think from that point of view it would be a crazy appointment. Crazy because a few of em pretend to like Rangers? Fuck em, let em go ibrox every week then :-) Quote

How does Lennon support the IRA is he a member or does he campaign or support them financially or politically? The IRA have stopped planting bombs now (doesn't excuse what they did in the past but to move forward you have to have agreement from both parties that both did wrongs and move on for greater good)and didn't they sign the peace process? What are IRA band nights? are they just catholic themed nights where they play old songs? Or something more sinister? I don't really think his brother being IRA sympathizer comes into this does it? Or are we guilty of something because we're related to someone? These are genuine questions I'm not pro this or anti that just want the truth and I'd prefer to make a belanced view not listen to bigoted comments from either side. pato Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Was the IRA band night that stitch up by the Scottish Sun? Anyway Neil Lennon has said that he will not support an organisation that attacks women and children and so Radio 1 is banned from the team bus Quote

Fuck em, let em go ibrox every week then :-) They are some of our most passionate fans Ryan I don't want them to be alienated if Lennon is genuine a bad one if it is just unfounded bigotry so be it but let's hear the facts first. frank_spencer Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Theres been a few things posted disproving the Neil lennon is pro ira/ anti Britain with links to photos and direct comments from lennon himself. Then hearsay and rumour to show he is. Id take from that it's a load of bollocks Mounts Quote
hughmungus Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Seeing as it seems we may be stuck with Lennon, I only hope he is a Dyche type of manager and not another Megson. My feeling is Megson and a bad one at that. We need a man who can organise a football club and not a nut job on the sidelines picking fights with every fucker. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 If it's not true, posting these things up as fact is dodgy ground to say the least. Quote

I think your being negative for negative sake I see a feisty positive manager similar to ONeill something we badly need if it wasn't for the baggage I would welcome him with open arms as just what this club needs. paulhanley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I'm not 100 per cent on the idea of Lennon. I'd certainly give him every chance and would sincerely hope he proves himself outside of the big fish in a small pond managerial situation he had while at Celtic. I just think it is a bit of a gamble. We gambled on Freedman when there were men around who were a guaranteed safe pair of hands (Mick McCarthy). I've been clear in saying I support an appointment of Chris Hughton who has a proven track record in the Championship. Lennon? Maybe he'll be brilliant, maybe he won't. He has no form in the Championship so we just don't know. Quote
gonzo Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 The more I read about him,the more I admire the bollocks of the man. Not many other managers would put up with being attacked in the street, attacked by supporters from the stands, bullets sent in the post and his name constantly dragged through the mud. Fair play to the bloke for sticking it out. Moaners in the west stand throwing their screwed up werthers wrappers to the floor in anger will seem like small fry to him. Quote

For once mounts I'm trying not to be, but his record doesn't look that good away from Celtic and I doubt if he had to do much rebuilding there in his time. Quote

Think an "IRA band night" would be a band playing that is known to play republican songs , Charlie & the bhoys and the Wolfe Tones would be 2 examples of this type . Not sure if Lennon ever went to see these but think he fined Stokes for doing so, but even if someone attends doesn't mean they are Ira supporters The "anti British " thing was thrown at him when he stated he would like to play for a United Ireland football team one day , itonicly by people who would no doubt support a United Ireland rugby team against England Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 So am I reading it right he didn't go to the IRA band night with Stokes the truth is Stokes went and was bollocked by Lennon and fined by the club for attending? It seems strange that the truth seems to be being twisted to suit a particular view of Lennon. That is unless someone can point me to a link where Lennon was with Stokes at another band night. Quote
Ratwhite Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I personally don't give a flying fuck whether he went to an ira band night, gay prom night or X Factor audition, I also don't care if he is ginger, blonde or bald. If he gets us moving up that fucking league he can wear a pink tutu on the sidelines and ill support the short, ginger, dancing queer Quote
