We'd only need to overtake one 

But it isn't right regardless as the two clubs could both still theoretically reach more than our ceiling of 100 points no matter the result against us and each other

I was looking through respective fixtures for the rest of the season, a few days ago, and iirc, Lincoln have to play Stockport again, and that helps along the theoretical pathway!

4th-6th all slipped up though, and Bradford play Stockport a week on Tuesday

Hats off to Lincoln today that is massive result, 4 SOT 4 goals, one direct from a corner. Used all their luck up hopefully.

They’re more consistent than us, continue to churn out results and have the motivation of one hand on promotion, so why would they lose form?

I wish I could think of a reason why they might crash and burn but I can’t come up with anything realistic other than taking out their team bus with a drone strike, so if you have some inside knowledge please share.

I have no idea about any of these, and you’re bang on that their form suggests it won’t happen, but if I’m clutching at straws… squad depth? lack of experience of being in this position when it gets to crunch time? general length of this run of form if they were to sustain it to the end of the season.

They keep ticking off games that I see as a tough game (I.e. yesterday - very impressive), so I’m getting less and less confident but I’m still clinging onto the fact that it’s so rare that 2 teams have gone and not to be caught at the half way point in a season.

Final bit of optimism - look at Coventry, everyone thought they were promoted, their lead was so big that even a dip in form wouldn’t have done too much damage. They’re about to be caught and will end up in the play offs.

For this optimism to remain though, we have to at least draw next Saturday (would leave the slightest glimmer) a preferably win (autos will be absolutely on). Lose and it’s game over.

All it takes is a bad result or a couple of injuries and they could quite conceivably have a dip in form or a wobble.

You talk like you're a touchy Lincoln fan.

I did warn you lot not to expect anything from us . Lincoln are simple, disciplined, strong and smart. Not sure they will have a wobble

Port Vale were 2nd all season In 93 and we had to wait till the penultimate game for their wobble. 

Just got to keep the pressure on.

All depends on next week for me.

And not to say anyone should give up afterwards.

But if we fail to beat them and they then beat Northampton at home, then they're then 8/9 points clear.

That's a big ask at this stage and even allows them space for a blip.

It's a mad league though, anything can happen. But I do think people are underestimating them.

Think the manager is superb and doing amazing job… they only signed 1 player in January and they’ve some average players such as Darikwa and Hamilton, squad depth and quality is no where near ours, injuries & suspensions will play a part…. We need not to lose next week but a win could put them under pressure and I’d like to see how they would deal and react to a defeat.
