Marc505 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 (edited) La Liga has just signed a 15 year deal to stage league games in USA and Canada. No details as to which fixtures yet. Can't see EPL standing for that for too long before Game 39 comes back from the dead. Edited August 16, 2018 by Marc505 Quote
birch-chorley Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Celts Vigo v Getafe in Nebraska isn’t going to do a great deal It would have to involve the big 2 really Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 (edited) Celts Vigo v Getafe in Nebraska isn’t going to do a great deal It would have to involve the big 2 really They’ve ruled out a Barca v Real game but you’re right in that at least one of them has to be involved to give it any credibility. Is there much of a Spanish diaspora in America or at least certain parts of it as opposed to Spanish-speaking? Edited August 16, 2018 by Leyther_Matt Quote

frank_spencer Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 If they follow the nfl model. The 'home' team will be one with shit attendance at their own stadium with the 'away' side being the bigger draw. Quote
gonzo Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 16,583 on at turf moor. Not just us that didn’t sell out in Europe then. Quote
MalcolmW Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Zenit won their second leg tonight 8-1, after extra time. They had lost 4-0 at Minsk and reversed that at home, hence the extra time. Quote

jayjayoghani Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 La Liga might appeal more if it wasn't such a duopoly. The other Madrid just seem like the footballing equivalent of Scrappy Do. Quote
Whites man Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Bobby Madley fucked a dog? Mad Hatter will be along saying the dog was asking for it. Swanny will be along asking for the dog’s number. Quote
tomski Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 The la liga stuff can lumped with the VAR. utter horseshit, start of the end. Legitimising glory hunting cunts everywhere. Would question the vadility of calling a team after a town/city if they don't play all home games in said place. I've been predicting a bubble burst for years but fear I'll be wrong and the bubble hasn't started. Quote

Theboybell Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Cracking game to finish that season 3-2 with 10 men Vs Everton at the Reebok. A proper barnstormer, recall it with much fondness. Going bonkers when Stelios scored the third. Looking at the team that afternoon we had so much quality and guile, with fair chunk of grit that plenty teams couldn't cope with. Hard to imagine the club will reach such heights again in my lifetime. Happy fucking days!! This post is the only reason im glad I'm the age I am. Fantastic times. No team at our level since has been able to recreate what we did despite trying. E.g. stoke WBA a hard working team with bona fide superstars in it. Quote
gonzo Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 We had the best midfield in the country outside of the top 3 easy. In that top 3 would be arsenal, United and Chelsea. Quote
