I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

I bet the Premier League can't believe their luck. United and Chelsea qualify for the Champions League, Aston Villa stay up, and Leeds United promoted.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be delighted if we ever got back to that level, but there's no denying that getting emotionally invested in that league it's a mug's game.

I’ve got really disillusioned with football and how soft it’s become. You can’t make any sort of challenge without the whistle going now.

A booking at worst for me. 10 years ago, not even a foul

4th ref had best view in the stadium. Is he still not allowed to intervene? If not, what is he there for?

If Brentford fuck that up, in the first leg, i will be astonished.

How do you put up an astonished face up ?

That guy who had a bet on Lingard not to score or assist all season dear me, be truly gutting that

Must admit that I did let out a Boycey-style laugh when I saw it

When the penalty was awarded against Leicester I'm not sure who was the most disappointed Brendan Rogers or Martin Tyler

Allardyce and Ancelotti take over struggling Everton teams half way through the season, Allardyce finishes 8th, Ancelloti finishes 12th.

When Sam took over Everton sat in 12th position, finished 8th.

Ancelotti took over, Everton sat 16th, finished 12th.

Records almost identical, both teams utter shite.

Errr.....correct me if I am wrong. You would have received a bigger PL payout for finishing 8th under BSA?

I rest my case m'lud.

On who?!

Cenk Tosun & Theo Walcott.

He cried about not having any attacker....his reason why we sat back never attached....then he got these 2....and our attack was just as bad.

*£40 mill officially....but he also signed Mangala on loan form City!!!!!!

Yeah sorry about that

Bolton have tried spending nowt for 8 years and are now in the 4th Division  having lost 0-5 at Tranmere and 1-7 at Accrington last season, I doubt you'd fancy going down that route. To finish 8th in the PL now requires spending a lot of money

I’ve just seen Eddie Howes transfer record and the amount he has spent. Jesus Christ.

I've just checked again Casino, in case it was incoming and outgoing but it deffo says purchased players. So by my reckoning it looks like like £150 million?

I see Jefferson Lerma and Nathan Ake coming in at 45.7M combined on their own

Is it not the net spend that counts?  A good few of those are no longer at the club so must have brought in good money.  Not defending him, but just not sure how he compares to everyone else.  Junior Stanislas and Callum Wilson are still 2 major strikers for them and he signed them well before they came up, for £3mil (Wilson) and a free.  I wish we'd had a manager with half an eye for a striker.

anyway, no doubt that Bournemouth squad is good enough to come back up, or get some decent transfer fees coming in
