I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Draw for me. We play Orient on Saturday and it’s in our own hands to go two points ahead of them.

it also means, with a six-pointer to come against them, Wrexham are still catchable.

Our squad is most definitely unbalanced, following some lopsided recruitment and releases over the last year. However, all of them have ability and with good management, and a little bit of luck, we might still do this!

On another thread I wrote I’ll try to focus on our performances and what SS gets out of this squad for now - and I stick by that - but there is still something at the back of my mind that would love to see all the top teams losing a few, even if it’s to keep alive the hope of another trip to Wembley.

To date, my Wembley trips are pretty even between absolute joy and despairing agony so the chance to tip the balance to the positive side will always appeal, but given our situation I’ll be trying not to think about that for now and see where we are in a month or so.

If lovable Crawley beat Wigan at home tonight, pies will be 3 points off the drop.

Four of the top 6 League One teams in action tonight which should tidy up the games in hand picture. Would love them all to lose but that can’t happen and I’m in a bit of a dilemma about Wrexham v Orient.

Depends if you want Wrexham out of the way (finishing 2nd) or in the play offs with us hopefully?

Its more important to me to get above Orient so we need them to not win, obviously a draw is fine but they are rare, especially with Wrexham who get a ridiculous number of late winners.

Wrexham v Orient.

Massive brawl, 3 players from each side sent off, with the game level with a good few minutes remaining.

Multiple bans for the reds, plus extra bans for players for yellow accumulation over the season.

Both teams to lose subsequent matches, and then replay at a later date.

Got to be a Wrexham win for me

I doubt we'd get 9 more points than them till the end of the season to take over them

We'll lose games of course, so don't want orient getting points as we need to get above them

Yes and with our pathetic goal difference that extra point is doubly important. With Brum and Wrexham coming up a loss tonight for Orient is a must for us.

Not like you to be over dramatic

Orient play Brum, Wrexham us and Charlton next 4, so their run is if anything tougher than ours.

I am happy for Brum, Wrexham and Wycombe to beat anyone around us and lose all their other games.

And if Carlsberg made football results...

Decent game, seriously need to keep an eye out on Kelman on Saturday, and, dare i say it Williams and Pratley.

He's bagged at Wrexham tonight.

Pratley with the assist.

How old is he now?

Can he manage to full 90 minutes in a week?

That Kelman was a big danger at their place. Had Iredale in all kinds if knotts iirc.

Orient leading now.

Just saw the goal, great finish but OMG how much space can you give someone at a corner, how does Parky think a pro footballer isn't going to get that at least on target.  Hopefully they defend like that against us.

Lincoln mate went to their game at Orient Saturday.  Said Orient were good going forward but very poor defensively.

The goal they conceded tonight was poor (the sort of goal we were conceding a few weeks ago), but making chances going forward with an almost 40 year old Pratley pulling the strings.

Hopefully the kiss of death, but Orient look much better than Wrexham.

Williams playing wide left of a three supporting the single striker.

Seems obvious, but he didn't play in such an attacking role for us. Hampered by defending.

Huddersfield now winning at Shrewsbury.

Wycombe also cruising.

We're going to have to earn a play off place.

Pratley just been sent off so should be missing Saturday 😂

Our season is over in mid-February. Thanks very much Leyton Orient. Kids are crying. 😡
