Surely the driver is innocent ?? and all the events that lead up to it are to blame entirely ??

He started up the street that HAD been closed off. Got into the tail end of fans still in the street. They've aggressively had a go at him for being there, others got very aggressive & he's panicked.

Could be a dozen variations on that of course. The public inquiry and 30 years of campaigning will eventually settle on a definative version.

I would love to see how our fans would have acted. The reaction of people is pretty much what would happen in any crowd in the country

I'd hazard a guess he'd be found guilty of reckless driving and endangerment, but under mitigating circumstances which would lessen what punishment you might normally get for something like that

but numerous folk got hurt because of his actions/reaction, a few badly by the looks of it, so he's not wholly innocent, like where he reversed into someone banging on his window

Nobody here would be looking into the scenario with this level of nuance if he was brown.

Not really. Folk would be going mental. They were already posting made up bollocks before the police released anything. Hopefully this new releasing suspect descriptions properly continues. Lessons learnt from Southport

Southport cunt was 17 at the time, so they weren't legally allowed to release any official details straight away.

Was more to do with him stating "nobody here"as I've not seen anything on here to back up his statement

I think it's a fair presumption to make. The Far Right were itching for the fella to be Muslim, and preferably an immigrant (as shown by their knee-jerk posts on social media). And there are a few on here who support those types of people.

I've never bottled anything, because I've never agreed to a straightener, and never would. There was no straightener organised with miami, he just wanted to phone me because he was extremely offended by a video I posted of a British Soldier saying he no longer believed in all the "Queen and Country" bollocks. We ended up having a very pleasant conversation. 🙂

Does the age stop a colour / nationality description being released (question as I don’t know).

 

they seem keen to point out they have learnt lessons from last time which caused more unrest / rioting. It could have easily gone mental yesterday with some of the shite that was being pedalled in the pubs before they released info

Talking of presumptions Cheese - recent history shows that the driver of a vehicle indiscriminately driving into a large group of innocent civilians is more likely to be brown than white

We ended up in a similar situation.  Got offended when I said I understood why the Irish wanted to resist English rule.

Think he thought I was some sort of balaclava cladded new IRA member.

Ended up having a lovely chat. Never quite managed a pint though.

In summary:

Bloke followed an ambulance that was on an emergency call, which meant the barriers were temporarily removed. Someone with a suspected heart attack. 

Driver being looked at for attempted murder, and many driving offences including driving under influence of drugs.

Whether it was an intended attack, or a dickhead off his chops trying to make a quick exit by tailgating, who knows.

Suspect it's the latter, but whatever the case, he's going down for a very long time.

I'm guessing that he simply couldn't be arsed waiting, and thought he'd take the opportunity to follow in behind- not exactly using all the grey matter owing to his being under the influence. 

Repeatedly stated by the police that it wasn't terror related, so in that light, I can't see it being a pre-planned attack.

 the way its been phrased.. wouldnt bet against the "white british man" is called summat like 'Zbignew Stankovich ' originally from albania , and been in england for six years and moved to liverpool within the last fortnight.
