Dubious Tom Eaves pen gives Nobbys Nuts the lead!
Back up to 7th.

Cobblers have gone from 17th to 9th with that goal.

Despite 9 mins of added time, Northampton have won and done us a favour.

Battered first half, Eaves comes on and changed the game. Long ball game and excellent defence of the lead - must’ve spent 5 minutes keeping it by the corner flag.

Wycombe seem to be resurgent under Duff too. Still, a chance to put a gap between us and the rest today.

A small gap, but a gap. This season the league is as tight as a fish’s arsehole - and that’s watertight. Every point matters.

Its normal.  I saw Chelsea's goals in the champions league and genuinely didn't know which team was Chelsea going by the players names, I had to hear the team name from the commentator.  Just 11 blokes in a Chelsea shirt who'll be playing in a different country next season.

I was sat in the bar in a hotel in Northampton and it was on the TV. It was like background noise and pictures. Took me a while to realise which team which. That level of football is just dead to me. Means absolutely fuck all. No interest whatsoever. I have absolutely no idea at all what that game meant in the greater scheme of things

Glad its not just me.  I can't identify with any of these teams, who cares whether its the blokes we've never heard of wearing Chelsea shirts or the blokes we've never heard of wearing the shirts of the team we've hardly heard of that win.

Saying that, I enjoy the champions league goals round ups, because there are some great goals and great stadiums and atmospheres.  I enjoy the actual football quality in highlights form.

The Europa and Conference stuff is a mystery though, its like the Sherpa Van Trophy - a thousand pointless games unless you actually win a trophy at the end of it.  (That's only my take BTW, others will be fully invested in it, no problem with that).

Looks like the age old error of believing that there is only real football in the English League is still alive and kicking.

I subscribed to Brian Glanville's 'World Soccer' when I was eight years old. Because of this, I know it not to be true.

This is not a criticism BTW. Just an observation.

Amount of stoppages then the length of time it takes play to get back underway or a set piece to be taken now, fucking hell sleep inducing.

Liverpool lost 5 out of 6, I wonder when that last happened.

Defending for the 2nd goal laughable, let's have 10 men stood in or around the box (in open play) like kids, let them queue up to have a shot, then not bother to do a Johnston type throwing themselves at the shot to try to block.  Too cool for all that.

Liverpool fans were saying it will take time for new squad to gel with all the new players, like they've had an overhaul or something

8 that started yesterday were there last season

 What's a bit of snow?

Played in worse. Very genuinely.

On snow covered pitches with lines made from removed snow, the ball picking up snow like you're making a snowman's head.

At school in Astley Bridge the alternative was to be forced to run up to Winter Hill !

Watched this game. Was crazy. Goalie was out shoveling the snow too. My local team (York United) knocked out earlier but still got the best shirt in the league.

getting guehi in on deadline day should have been priority over isak

They had him, medical and everything then the bottom fell out of Palace's deal for his replacement and it was off.
