I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Burnley up to fourth in the PL?

Do they want Owen Coyle back yet? Best thing that ever happened to them was us taking Coyle.

To think where they are now we were in 2006

NYD 2007, we were 4th. 5 months later Allardyce gone.....

Fair play to Burnley, shows it’s still possible

They are doing it whilst making large profits as well which is admirable, sure they finished in the top 10 clubs in the world for NET profit or something like that

Another few years of profit and they might sort out that hovel of an away end.

Very reminiscent of us back in the day

Stood on this end at Burnley in the "only need nine men game. "24862408_10156101621403203_5954409743067

I recall the utter bedlam when we equalised very fondly.  I was a very impressionable 11 year old at the time.

On the drive away from the ground after the game a Burnley fan was knocked spark out over car bonnet....."Don't mention this to your mum!!!" was all my Dad said.

Sure we were in the covered paddock that day

Sure we were in the covered paddock that day

aye, down the side to the right of that pic.

i remember Bolton going on the pitch only to be charged back by far more Burnley coming from that paddock in the pic.

although i do recall seeing a good few Dingles taking a kicking.

We were down the side and the on the pitch game was a different game altogether.

haha, all  blurs into one for me these days, which is the game i'm thinking of?

I stood on that end that day with my 8 year old son so he could have a good view behind the goal.

Was definitely covered end to the right for the 9 men game 100%

1988 when we played them two weeks on the run.

Type Burnley Bolton fight into you tube and there it is.

Been Burnley umteen times, I remember one year we had the Cricket end behind the goal in 84, it was only a Lancs/Manx cup game before the season started, most of the time it has been half of the Long Stand.

Sure we were in the covered paddock that day

The covered stand in the photo is the Bob Lord stand innit?

I was in there for the "We only need 9 men" game, locals weren't reet keen on us being there iirc.

Ah, and the locals when me and my son jumped up and danced about that terrace behind that goal weren't to happy. :D

That's the one.

Doesn't convey how many Burnley were coming at us though. Seems a few coppers kept us apart, pretty tame in the end.

Bedlam outside though, kept my head down and fucked off in mates dad's car.

Only time Burnley can claim a victory in the FA cup tie after years of the town being taken over, normal service was resumed the following week in the League match.
