frank_spencer Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 The new NFL stadia are costing upwards of $1bn with a good chunk coming from the local council. Baffling when you think 20yrs ago ours cost £35m-£40m Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Absolutely. I know it was 20 years ago and we're talking London prices in palace's case, but does seem massive. Quote
Marc505 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Aye the square box with missing corners gig of the mid 90's are particular eyesores. Millwall, wolves, stoke etc. Awful places Already look old before their time those grounds, and then the identikit bowl stadiums like St Mary’s or Leicester’s. Big, good sightlines, facilities etc but just a bit boring really Quote
gonzo Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Palace's upgrade to add 8000 more seats is costing ~£170m iirc. That's a lot of money. Parish is only worth £45 million. Surely if palace drop and stay dropped their arse will fall out like ours did? Quote
Eavesy Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Parish is only worth £45 million. Surely if palace drop and stay dropped their arse will fall out like ours did? It’s okay they have the best fans in the world I’m sure the ultras will turn out for Barnsley at home on a Wednesday Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Parish is only worth £45 million. Surely if palace drop and stay dropped their arse will fall out like ours did? Can only think they have additional benefactor or perhaps sadiq is swapping west ham's deal to them. I suppose 8000 seats at say £40 a time yields 320,000 extra per game. 19 games plus say a couple of cup games gives over £6m per year. So a few decades to repay, excluding risk of relegation. A back of a fag packet job that, but it does seem odd? Maybe they're incorporating a hotel, offices etc to bring in additional revenue. Good luck to 'em. Quote

They are similar size to us they’ll have 15,000 empty seats out of the top flight. Quote
Sweep Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Parish is only worth £45 million. Surely if palace drop and stay dropped their arse will fall out like ours did? Aren't they also part owned by some very wealthy American types who also own NBA and NHL teams? Quote

Sweep Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 They are similar size to us they’ll have 15,000 empty seats out of the top flight. Very true, they almost went bust a few years ago, and could easily do so again if they had a prolonged period outside of the top flight Quote
birch-chorley Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Parish is only worth £45 million. Surely if palace drop and stay dropped their arse will fall out like ours did? You’ve sent me down a Crystal Palace shaped rabbit hole! Ha ha Looking at it they cleared a profit of £23m in their first season in the premier league, £8m in year 2 Revenue increased dramatically in year 3 (last season) with the new TV deal generating £115m alone, likely they turned over close to £150m in total which should drive even bigger profits If they bring in another £150m this season you’d fancy them to make a decent chunk of profit from that as well. I’d imagine the operating profit they have had from 4 years in the premier league will cover more than half the cost of the build Even if they go down this season they will get £100m in parachute money that can chip away at the total cost, you’ve also got the additional increase in revenue the development should bring in Looks relatively viable Quote
Whites man Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 The Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes turned down the job at Rangers who responded in a statement like a teenage lad knocked back by a bird. An ex-player too, albeit for the old club and not the new one. Quote
darrener Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Two more goals for Connor Hall today as the u23's came from 3-0 down to beat Barnsley 4-3. Jeff King also on the scoresheet Quote
Zico Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Bristol city just done sheff u in injury time If not this season reckon they'll soon be the next new boys in the PL Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 The mighty Sheff utd lost 3 of the last 4. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Let’s hope their wheels are still off by 30th Dec Quote
enzo gambaro Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Jeff King was missing games last season because of the embargo. Since then we’ve signed three hundred wingers and he’s been nowhere near. Wonder if Cloughy would get in the Bristol City team. Quote
frank_spencer Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I know it's not cool to enjoy other football on here but the Chelsea v West Ham game has been a brilliant watch Quote

Marc505 Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Makes me laugh them photos from sites like Football Away Days on Facebook/Twitter of groups of lads at aways and people taking the piss out of their attire etc, comments logged at like 15:20 on a Saturday. Fucking get your arse to games rather than mock from miles away Quote
tomski Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Always makes the weekend better when that happens. They aren't winning the league for a long time! Hahaha Quote
