I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

I was having a look to see if I could find McDonagh in a red Bolton top....and I came across this picture, totally unrelated, but what the fuckery is that hair all about?

Didn't McDonagh occasionally have a red keeper top too?

The only keeper who wore red in that era was Tony Godden at West Brom.

I'm sure Barry Siddall did the red.

The mcdonagh goal- we had two strikers who chased it. Not sure if they couldn't quite get to it, or whether they avoided trying to control it- anyway can anyone confirm that they were Ian Moores and Neil whatmore.

Memory isn't what is was.

Is what I'm aiming for

cant have been Ian Moores Tonge, running was not in his make-up but saying that nether was being a striker.

Finishing wasn't his forte either!

Only ever remember green and blue with McDonagh and Siddall

Can't see either wearing red as that was our away kit at the time

Could well be wrong though

I was thinking of the season we played in the green away kit? Either way, not seen any evidence of it

Siddall had been gone probably 5 seasons by then.

We used to have to back our exercise books at school

One of mine was adorned with a blue shirted mcdonagh...probs from shoot or match

Handed it in once and didn't get it back

Teacher denied ever having had it

Couple of weeks later was called to staff room and really couldn't think what I had done

Anyway, he just wanted to give me it back, autographed by mcdonagh

Brilliant that proper teacher. ????????????

And I'm sure that the old TSB and Normid away shirts were red? i stand corrected if not

I think there's a green tsb

Normid red and possibly pale blue?

Is this TSB era or just before

Remember seeing that green kit away at Blackburn in the 0-0 in April 81.

I'm good,I am

I'm not into wearing football tops but if that came out Id be all over that.

A thing of beauty.

Danny G has been looking for one for about ten years.

Is that not the one Score Draw have done a replica of in the happy shop?

I still have this and the red version, unfortunately i'm now a fat cunt and i was 12 years old when i last wore them.

Cracking kits!!

First time I remember seeing that green kit was at Crystal Palace in the cup. Gerry McElhinney scored an home goal iirc.

Absolute fact. That Palace game was the birth of the "You what, you what, you what, you what, you what eh!!!" chant. Yes, we invented that one

Me neither but your right it’s thing of beauty but you the red ones even better frankly and Willie Morgan looked the dogs bollocks in that one.

Is that Max Wall ?

The green shirt was definitely seen at Blackburn as Leigh White correctly says.

I think the next time was either Rotherham or Derby the following season.

As for Undies and his absolute fact of the "you what, you what" chant......sorry pal buts that utter shit.

Granted, it was the first time Bolton fans sang it, but a far cry from us actually inventing it.....check the archives pal.

As for red goalkeeper's jerseys....look before Tony Godden....

As you were puffters.
