March 25, 201511 yr Been in the centre today, only conversation I could understand went thus - "it's yer own fault, yer a baghead". What a mess.

March 25, 201511 yr Biggest mosque in Britain apparently. Can fit more punters in than even some in Leicester and London. I've applied for a license to open a mobile rug trading stand nearby. This time next year....

This time next year.... I've sorted out those gold plated tissue boxes and pillows for a car rear window. Are you still getting those cd's on a string?
March 25, 201511 yr Bradshawgate needs all its businesses told that flashing plastic advertising chicken and other fast foods should be removed and replaced with something a lot more conservative, buildings appearances improved by being pointed etc. that shithole of a pub with a skull advertising it opposite Barristers and the old Prince Bill want fumigating with their customers still inside, absolutely disgusting dumps IMO
March 26, 201511 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-32058929 We didn't even make the top ten. Gartside out!

March 26, 201511 yr I actually was a bit more impressed with town when I bobbed in t'other week. Looks like things are starting to move forward slowly.
March 26, 201511 yr aye, but you bobbed in until its more attractive to outsiders, its gonna be hard work that, for me, means bradshawgate has to be sorted at least the mosque will improve blackburn road
March 26, 201511 yr aye, but you bobbed in until its more attractive to outsiders, its gonna be hard work that, for me, means bradshawgate has to be sorted at least the mosque will improve blackburn road I agree, the Mosque will at least make Blackburn Road look an awful lot nicer and improve the area no end Bradshawgate needs a whole lot of work doing to it, there are still some nice buildings there so hopefully these could be re-generated............it requires the will of the council and the Bolton residents to make this happen though, and I'm not sure the desire is there from either party
March 26, 201511 yr I actually was a bit more impressed with town when I bobbed in t'other week. Looks like things are starting to move forward slowly. As Stanley says, you nipped in and thought it wasn't too bad, that's the trouble, people don't go in so wouldnt know either way. I'm not sure I'd have a reason to go in as many others don't. They need to make folk want to go in but, and this is a shame, if it is still full of scruffs, they'll not whatever they do.
March 26, 201511 yr I'm not sure I'd have a reason to go in Not even for the pubs/bars/clubs and fine eateries on a Friday/Saturday evening?
March 26, 201511 yr I can see the marketing srapline now: "Bolton - we're not as shit as Preston" My lad is at uni in Preston and I visit a few times with mrs d. The shopping area there beats Bolton hands down. No idea what they base the league table on but I'm guessing they didn't get shown Bradshawgate, Derby St., Deane Rd., Newport St., Blackburn Rd, Manchester Rd, fucking hell, I'll stop the list it's depressing.

It's a load of bollocks basically. The score is derived from the amount of pawnbrokers and betting shop etc. Streets that scored well had more health shops etc. Preston isn't bad at all down fisher gate IMO. It just happened to have a higher concentration of unhealthy shops according to the silly survey.

Aye, I can't think of anything I need from Bolton tc other than a pint:) but missus wanted to go in and it just seemed to me a bit of effort was starting to take place. I couldn't say that a few years ago. I also agree that it needs reason to attract folk. If Bolton had stuff to go into, I'd be all over it.
March 26, 201511 yr It needs a cinema, a swimming pool with slides and a wave machine and a sporting venue for a local team. It'd be the dogs bollocks with them three.
