Members DazBob
So, it's a £6 pastie? I know people who'd pay that. Haha.

madthatter
Enjoy your view through the rose tinted glasses. Nothing other than realism on here tonight All about context for me - end of season game against a promotion cert, and massive game/moment in their history. Us, on the other hand, mid-table aspirants at best, with a seriously depleted squad including many in it that probably (hopefully) wont be here next season. Always going to be a tough ask. I just hope Lennon can sort the wheat from the chaff and can pull out some miracles in the transfer market. Lot of positives, especially re. some of our youth coming through this year; although I have to admit last night was pretty awful to watch. Long way to go before start of next season - let's not write it off yet ffs!

gonzo
These people who think we're shite, that we need a complete clearout, or that we're slowly sinking into League One, how do they explain the fact that we have one of the best home records in the Championship since Lennon took over? We are 7th in the home form table and 11th in the overall table since he took over. It's the away form that needs sorting. We don't need to tear up the entire blueprint and start again. Bang on the money. I just don't get this massive clear out bollocks. Stick Clayton,Clough,Pratley,Craig Davies etc back in there and it's a different story all together. I keep saying it but you can take nothing from these games in recent weeks. The season is over. We played a team last night that have been top for 80% of the season and needed to win to go up. It was always going to be a pasting. I just don't get the panic. We couldn't put a foot wrong a few months ago till like casino said earlier the injuries came and we came up against teams vying for promotion. It was always going to happen. If our run had carried on we'd be in the play offs by now. I saw enough in that decent spell to suggest things are going to be just fine. Everybody chill the fuck out and let the manager and staff do their stuff. Judge em at Xmas if you like.

We are 7th in the home form table and 11th in the overall table since he took over. It's the away form that needs sorting. We don't need to tear up the entire blueprint and start again. Based on Freedman's first half season here were we not top, or close to it, based on the second half of the season results? I don't think it matters that much. You only need to see where we are at compared to teams challenging for promotion this year. And also think, genuinely, how many players we have good enough to seriously compete for a top 6 spot in this league. I'd say that in my view we've got, Bogdan, Pratley, Clough, Mark Davies and possibly Clayton as players who are good enough to play regularly in a side pushing for promotion. Mills, Ream and Vela possibly good enough to play some part in that sort of a side but certainly far from convincing as regulars in a set position as of yet. After that, Danns, Walker, Craig Davies and Lonergan seem ok as squad filler, but not to be relied on. I make that a pretty long way from being able to challenge. Of the players who are probably good enough, Mark Davies is going to be injured and Clough and Clayton may not start the season depending upon their injuries. Pratley and Bogdan may not even be here. Neil Lennon knows this, he's already said he needs lots of new players next season. But knowing he needs them does not mean we have the ability to bring them in nothing I've seen or heard suggests that our decline of the last 5 seasons is about to be significantly reversed. Thankfully Lennon put the handbrake on which is probably all he could do given the circumstances.

Hang on, we are going polar again The thought that a massive clearout is required, but Lennon can carry us forward next season and we don't need to panic don't have to be mutually exclusive We have a raft of fucking shite in the squad and we do need rid of a lot of them. If that's possible I don't know, but unless we do, we won't see much progress as he isn't going to be able to bring in the players he wants

gonzo
All about opinions Julian. I personally don't think we do have a raft of shite players. A few standard issue championship players yes. But I feel there's something there to work with at least. Danns for instance gets pelters. I think he's alright. Top grafter and plays well in his proper position alongside pratley when fit. It's only since pratley got injured and he was dragged out of position has his form dipped. Same with a lot of other players. Get A decent partner for Matt Mills in that defence and I don't think all is lost at the back either.

Danns was much better when he was employed further forward; but he's not dropped into where Pratley was playing; I think the 2 are separate issues Unless Lennon is playing this way just because Pratley is out Which I doubt

bwfcfan5
Neil Lennon himself said last night that there is a lot of work to do in the summer to bring players in. He also said that we've got too many players a "bit short at this level". Which suggests Lennon himself agrees that we need a lot of players shifting and a lot bringing in. Big E
No it doesn't. It means that he needs to do a lot of work to get the players he wants. so he needs to shift some on and bring some in then?
COYW
so he needs to shift some on and bring some in then? It's the number he needs to shift that's the issue. I'd have thought that much was obvious.
Mounts Kipper
Regardless of last nights drubbing I am actually looking forward to the changes in the squad this upcoming close season we have a manager/management team who have dragged us to safety from rock bottom on his arrival through a combination of passion/drive and sheer aggression and no excellent management of the squad, while shedding high earners on loan and enduring the worst injury crisis I have ever known while watching BWFC. Given just a bit of financial support things will change for the better next season and I am genuinely excited for the first time in a good few years that we can now return to an upward trajectory. Big E
Have you read any of this page? Yes and i really don't understand how you think we do not need to move a lot of the squad on. Lennon seems to think thats what is needed. surely some rubbish posted by a tangerine sympathiser ( ) won't make our squad now world beaters
Traf
Including loan players, there are 25 players who can just walk on 1st July. The squad might ship itself out.
