500k according to Bolton evening news

I'd prefer a bit more for him in an ideal world but let's be honest, he will never progress any further than decent championship level. He has a hell of a long way to go to make premiership standard

I must admit, Vela, leaving doesn't concern me in the slightest

Regardless of whether your rate him or not; £500k is an absolute steal IMO.

He won't be missed!

I've had my reservations about vela but recently he's done alright he's made of the right stuff, for me he's a utility player who can play in a number of roles won't be a superstar but good to have in your squad, on top of the likely sale of Davies and the reports the club pushing ZC out of the door I'm feeling sick to the stomach. Can we remove the sign over the academy facility please the Eddie Davies academy get to fuck rip it down.

Looking on the bright side, losing options might mean Lennon has to decide his best 11 and stick to it. Successive managers have had the bingo balls out far too often which hasn't helped settle the team in the slightest.

Let's not forget, these players we are moaning about losing are the very players who have got us cut adrift at the bottom of the league

That bottom paragraph is exactly where I'm at Dave. It could be a blessing in disguise 5-10 years down the line

Totally agree, but it's a clear indication of the state were in. We've now set the bar for our prised assets.

We can't be blaming ZC for the position were in. I agree with selling Davies as he's on big money, last week we said were not selling ZC and Clough because there wages were low, 1 week later their virtually out the door. More lies from the club, and selling young players we could have built a new foundation on. As I said earlier id rather ZC said piss off I'm not moving, what would Eddies next move be then to save his arse, the stadium?

Other than Clough......do we actually have any prized assets (with regards to playing staff)

I think ZC is the exception mounts. Certainly applies to the rest.

Not a regular poster on here but daily viewer. I think we've gone past valuations and reasons for the sale of players. No matter how frustrating it is, the focus of the club has to be the forefront in these next few days. Not saying that there are any of these folk on here but some need to think about the workers with the business I.e the coaches who have trained since leaving college, cleaners, admin staff, chef's who will have been to catering school, community workers, groundsman as I for one wouldn't like to go to work to be told I have the prospect of no job and then have to compete with others for alternative work. I hope this doesn't happen but there is always a possibility in situations like this. The liklehood is the the bwfc playing squad will have better options for getting back into work of their choice. Just an opinion.

Best 11 = Only 11.

Spearing will be still be on the bench though.

If we have a squad of 20 players on £5k per week average wage bill is £100k per week, plus say £40k per week for management team, we have over £500k per month on wages, selling Vela pays the wages for a month. Plus we have to repay PFA at some point I assume.

It is sad though after years of hardly anyone coming through the ranks that these lads are first to be let go, imagine there are others like wheatear and spearing on much more money.

who said that? genuinely missed that one

Seems about 600k according to BEN.

500k innit?

Given today's crazy prices he,d be cheap at 3 times that.

That says that the club would prefer to shift the high earners rather than the promising young lads who aren't on big wages. It doesn't say they won't be sold.

Unfortunately, prospective buyers are more likely to be interested in promising young players on realistic wages rather than older lads who have done a double take on pay day every month since they signed a contract.

The less possibility for tinkering might be a blessing in disguise.

Maybe it's time to unleash Liam Trotter? We badly need a hero out there!

It's took 12 days to do a complete about turn.
