ZiggyStardust Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 But you said you could do a better job than Trevor Birch, so what would you do? I'd hire Paul McKenna for a day, get him to hypnotise every PL executive, and convince them that they need to sign Medo, no matter what the cost. Then start the auction. Quote
jagermoot Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Or maybe let people know that it isnt the fat egyptian feller. Some clubs might still think we sign aged and "past it" players still. Quote

Eavesy Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 And 10 million for Afobe. His performance at Brighton away may have been one of the worst I have ever seen. Admittedly he isn't a right winger but he so far out of his depth it was ridiculous. Now he's been sold for £10m. Quote

gonzo Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Don't really understand the criticism of Trevor Birch and co. Â He's been bought in to sort out a big fuck off mess and skipper a sinking ship. Â His remit was to find help find investment and deal with situation if we couldn't. He's doing just that. We need to sell players and assets to keep the club becoming insolvent. We run at a million loss per month and can no longer afford to pay staff or players. Â A fire sale is the only way to stop us going under and pay for voluntary admin. Â Look at Birch's track record and the clubs he's worked with and it may give some indication as to why it was him bought in. Â Since he's come,he's uncovered a complicated mess in our accounts and has taken them to be analysed by forensic accountants to try and sort the mess out. This is fact not conjecture. Â There is not one single investor that has offered to buy the club lock stock and barrel. Not one. So what else do you want him to do? Â He's already skipped a months pay for players. Then he skipped a months pay for staff. Then he used PFA money to pay the players to stop em walking. Now he's selling players and offices to pay them again. Â We have no money so need to sell things so we have money. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I'd much rather Birch be running the show than that clown Gartside Quote

tomski Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I'd go as far to say birch is doing a great job. Raising funds and working hard contacting investors. Â I understand he takes on tricky situations but I bet ours is more complicated (always the Bolton way) Â Keep up the good work TB Quote

passmosster Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 No-one will buy the club lock, stock and barrel without a solid set of warranties no matter how much they have. Â Just don't understand the reason why 48 hours is the deadline for admin. Â Why now? How many adjournments did Northampton get on their winding up petition from the revenue? Quote
birch-chorley Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I guess we are building up HMRC debt faster than Northampton  And as on paper HMRC are such a small creditor in % terms they have a duty to the public to force the issue and get that money in Quote

green genie Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 If you want to be thankful for small mercies we had Peter Ridsdale in Birch role trying to create a situation where he would buy football club for a quid, with his preferred bidder owning ground. Quote
