September 6, 201510 yr On point as ever. The footage shows young and fit men capable of vaulting fences and walking 80 miles to the Austrian border. Poor downtrodden refugees there clearly are but all of them - not a fucking chance. Let's hope the majority eventually taken in are not future bombers or decapitators and are simply what I suspect we all already know - economic migrants. DC's proposal to take people from refugee camps whose bona fides can be properly checked out and the correct processing procedures followed is leadership of the highest order in my view. Germany's policy is creating a large part of the problem. Like your good self?
September 6, 201510 yr Like your good self? Michael, Michael, Michael. How many times must we go through this? Huge difference in as much as I was headhunted to come to Australia - I didn't seek migration or to get away from my home country. I was perfectly happy working at a Monton based Engineering design consultancy - earning well, watching th'Whites etc. When the approach came, due consideration given and, on balance, seemed like the right decision to make on behalf of my then four and two year olds. Been proved to be a correct decision as they both now have great careers, own homes and the daughter marries a millionaires son next March. Not sure any of that would have happened had we stayed but who knows? Factors in the decision? A sense that Britain's manufacturing industries were diminishing (correct); rampant immigration was leading to less opportunities for the indigenous population and causing civil unrest (proved in 1980 with St.Pauls in Bristol, Moss Side, Bradford and Brixton riots); a chance to get back to my beloved work of designing both conventional and special purpose industrial gearboxes - working on Eaton transmissions in Monton did not satisfy a need.. That's it really. I certainly wasn't looking to escape poverty and deprivation mainly brought about by the domination of domestic politics by a stone age religion, nor was I escaping war unless the aforesaid riots were going to spread to an all out civil war which was never likely to happen in the UK for at least a few more decades. Next question please.
September 6, 201510 yr So can we class that as a bite then P? Edited September 6, 201510 yr by Burndens Bogs
September 6, 201510 yr always good to read an informed view of a non islamophobe and fcuk me, theres many of them on here, once again proving boltys 51% rule bollocks and as somebody with a less than sympathetic view of israels antics, the last bits good to hear, too Islamophobe, another slur word beloved of the left in order to gag any debate on the religion of peace that doesn't head the way that we live in a utopia that is the diverse multicultural heaven that needs to be celebrated.
September 6, 201510 yr Islamophobe, another slur word beloved of the left in order to gag any debate on the religion of peace that doesn't head the way that we live in a utopia that is the diverse multicultural heaven that needs to be celebrated. Why is it everyone that doesn't agree with you is classed as far left in their views? You seem to think your quite central in your views?
September 6, 201510 yr You lefty yoof are all the fucking same. You are incapable of thinking past the heart wrenching images the media thrive on. Quite simply, all of our efforts and money should be focussed on ending the war. Stops the reason for undertaking such risky travel (if they are truly all refugees which I would bet my last dollar they are not) and therefore the unfortunate deaths and suffering. You can call me a bigot all you want but plonker is a bit rich from a halfwitted porn addict. Which war are you referring too ? And how do you propose ending it ?

I can understand you going for all the above reasons but I hope you and your missus didn't leave thinking the darkies were gonna fuck you up if you didn't.
September 6, 201510 yr 10,000 according to sky news we shall be taking in, thought it was only a couple of thousand the other day
September 6, 201510 yr 10,000 according to sky news we shall be taking in, thought it was only a couple of thousand the other day How many of them will be placed in the PM's constituency?

Next question please. Enoch Powell moved to Australia aged 25 to become a Professor at Sydney University. He made it clear that he would return to England when (not if) war broke out. He duly did that, only to find that call-up would be when the machinery of government got round to it, so lied that he was Australian in order to be able to join up immediately. He was one of two men who rose from Private to Brigadier during the war.
September 6, 201510 yr Interesting input from Lord Carey in this morning's Sunday Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/syria/11846651/Lord-Carey-Britain-has-a-duty-to-rescue-Syrias-Christians.html
September 6, 201510 yr I'm know dc fan but I think he's bang on the money on this Do you mean this week when he's letting them in or last week when he wasn't letting them in?
September 6, 201510 yr Seriously the ones in the camps which can be checked is the correct way IMO But having said that there has to be a limit
September 6, 201510 yr Which war are you referring too ? And how do you propose ending it ? Just being silly now.
September 6, 201510 yr I know - just messing with you. I'd do the same given a chance. However, I doubt that 'rampant immigration' was a factor in your decision. Or at least I hope it wasn't. I can understand you going for all the above reasons but I hope you and your missus didn't leave thinking the darkies were gonna fuck you up if you didn't. It was a factor we considered (rampant immigration). The last bit wasn't - please don't labour under the misapprehension of Casino's favourite jibe that the colour of someones skin makes a difference to me. A fair proportion of my mates through my teenage years were of Caribbean or part Caribbean origin. Nope - 'darkies fucking me up' never came into it, nor would it cross my mind.
September 6, 201510 yr I think we all know Bolty well enough on here to know he's not some ex pat Enoch Powell type. A lot of people have genuine concerns about letting potentially thousands of refugees and migrants in and the stock reply seems to be to call them racists.
September 6, 201510 yr Why is it everyone that doesn't agree with you is classed as far left in their views? You seem to think your quite central in your views? Where did I say that on here? I am simply pointing out the "labels" some posters like to throw at other posters have been used by the left to end any debate on this subject. Try talking about immigration in a student union debate and unless you are all for open borders and "more the better" you will be tarred and feathered and run out of the building as a racist. I cannot help but be disappointed when these labels are bandied about on here.

Why would I discuss anything with over opinionated student twats:) Fwiw I don't mind people having different opinions and there are merits to all peoples arguments on here. I just feel it's a bit naff referring to lefties etc when I think the opinions offered are far from it.
September 6, 201510 yr We elect a government to deal with this shit so we can crack on worrying about faltering meringues in the Bake Off, or why Eddie Davies is pulling his ladder up. I'll let them do their work.
September 6, 201510 yr How many of them will be placed in the PM's constituency?none, see the government is using its foreign aid fund to give to local authorities for the homing of these refugees. Shame the government cant find money for vital children's services which have been closing recently around here due to funding
September 6, 201510 yr How many of them will be placed in the PM's constituency? If the RAF fly them into Brize Norton they will all pass through his constituency!
