DC's proposal to take people from refugee camps whose bona fides can be properly checked out and the correct processing procedures followed is leadership of the highest order in my view. Germany's policy is creating a large part of the problem.

I was perfectly happy working at a Monton based Engineering design consultancy - earning well, watching th'Whites etc. When the approach came, due consideration given and, on balance, seemed like the right decision to make on behalf of my then four and two year olds. Been proved to be a correct decision as they both now have great careers, own homes and the daughter marries a millionaires son next March. That's it really. I certainly wasn't looking to escape poverty and deprivation mainly brought about by the domination of domestic politics by a stone age religion, nor was I escaping war unless the aforesaid riots were going to spread to an all out civil war which was never likely to happen in the UK for at least a few more decades.

Enoch Powell moved to Australia aged 25 to become a Professor at Sydney University. He made it clear that he would return to England when (not if) war broke out.

He duly did that, only to find that call-up would be when the machinery of government got round to it, so lied that he was Australian in order to be able to join up immediately. He was one of two men who rose from Private to Brigadier during the war.

none, see the government is using its foreign aid fund to give to local authorities for the homing of these refugees. Shame the government cant find money for vital children's services which have been closing recently around here due to funding
