Not in Crawley
The "good ship lib dem" was doomed after gaining a share of power in 2010. A lot of their then followers are now Corbynistas - they are happier to be right without power than have power but as a consequence have to make compromises. The specific issue of increasing tuition fees, which Clegg had categorically said he would not do, lost huge numbers of those in their teens and twenties, many of whom said they would never vote Lib Dem again. And guess where they are now. I know Malcom. I do read the papers.
Guest
Many (possibly even most) Labour supporters are disillusioned with the Con-lite policies with which Blair gained and held power. Although the new £3 members gained the massive majority, the simple fact is that even with only full members' votes counting Corbyn would have got in. Remember he had 10 of the 35 MP signatures required to get on the candidate list, Condescending members then agreed to widen the debate, and he got his last signature with one minute to spare. Corbyn's campaign was managed by McDonnell (who is at least as odious). In turn he employs Corbyn's son. McDonnell has got his reward as deputy chancellor. but even so, and notwithstanding they are nutters; what on earth has come over them? Not in Crawley
They think that because change is needed, that the way to do it is this way. People are disillusioned with spin politics, professional politions and want someone who clearly does not sell themselves on that platform and also who holds the political system into account. A system that many feel is self serving and currupt and people want honesty. Which is fine and understandable. The mistake is to think that a relatively far left rhetoric is going to delievery this. This is a scream into a bell jar and hopefully will invigorate the public out of their political apathy, just didn't want the Labour Party to be the sacrificial lamb. Smiffs
Fuck knows. Let me know when someone finds it. I thought Burnham would have provided it but to save his career (in the short term) he's jumped ship with the terrorist loving commies. Members bolty58
Hehehehe.........appointing a shadow chancellor who wants to "overthrow capitalism". It's just fantastic. I can see a revival of the car industry as a nationalised industry. All the tree huggers and yoghourt knitters will love it - a one off peoples car in a basic design only which will be an eco-friendly version of the famous communist mode of transport, the Trabby. Ours will be called the Chavvy. Recalcitrants like Crawley will get their come uppance when they ban the importation of all foreign wines - including his favourite Chardonnay. As a substitute, British taste buds will be 'trained' to accept British mead and cider from orchards worked in by the masses displaced from the major cities. Queueing for bread can become a national pastime. Make a change from complaining about the weather. This has already been better than the Command Performance. Marvellous. I can see you all voting for this socialist utopia.

Members bolty58
Can you see him lasting more than a year? Honestly Swanny, I think the pink rags (less militant socialists) will quickly realise they face political oblivion with this lot at the helm and oust the mad bastard and his outdated cronies in less than 6 months. This would be a disappointment in some ways as I would love to see a prolonged spell of sound economic management for the UK which would be pretty much guaranteed with an unelectable opposition. Then one must consider that the SNP and Jerrys lefties agree on a whole swathe of issues and any sort of coalition between the two could be fatal for the UK. Probably better he's sent to the back benches a.s.a.p. overall although I will feel cheated of entertainment value.
no balls
It's a bit worrying when a government minister thinks there's nutters on their way. Maybe he's a tin foil hat type too 2% of loads is, well, fucking loads. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/islamic-state/11865151/Islamic-State-jihadis-may-be-posing-as-Syrian-refugees.html

I don't think believing it's happening is the difficult/controversial bit
Maggie Tate
Well it can't be new can it? We've been accepting Muslim refugees for decades from all over the place, it cannot possibly be that al Qaeda never saw the same opportunity that IS now presumably is. We're not going to stop it happening, the best can be hoped for if it does reach the stage of attack planning is that our lot can disrupt their plots, using powers, incidentally, that the same people who demand totally open borders usually campaign against them having. Maggie Tate
Debt and deficit are different. They can move in opposite directions without contradiction. And if Osborne is increasing the debt, why aren't leftists applauding given that borrowing is their solution to everything?

Guest
Innumerate. And we ain't, we just loathe the rich (due to envy). Financial literacy is the ability to understand how money works in the world: how someone manages to earn or make it, how that person manages it, how he/she invests it (turn it into more) and how that person donates it to help others. I think it stands

Youri McAnespie
I'm very aware of financial literacy, one of my little maxims that I like to share with others, which delights them no end, is 'if you ran a business like you did your personal finances you'd be bust'. Folk love that gem of wisdom being passed to them.
