Love camping. When I was a kid used to do it all the times with my folks. As they were both teachers, we'd set off on the Friday school broke up in summer and then tour Europe for 6 weeks. Saw so much that my folks would have never been able to afford to take me to if it was flights and then hotels.

For me the one thing that camp sites have over hotels is that you're not as restricted - which is great when you've got kids. Don't get me wrong, a night or two away in a decent hotel with the other half is brilliant, when you've got three little ones, you just want them to be able to go off, ride their bikes, BBQ in the evening,  play football with the other kids or at the park on the campsite all safe and let them just have a bit a freedom that sadly is lacking playing out in the streets anymore and you don't get in hotels

Just got back from a week in Blackpool in a static, kids loved it and next weekend me and the other half just driving 40 mins away to a village called Lenham in East Kent for a weekend camping. Cost 20 quid for the pitch, free firepit and BBQ use. Better than staying at home for that price.

Plus Caravaning introduced me to Calvados, and for that I will always be grateful.

Woah there. Have you been hacked? Is this the current in thing for lovies? Will we see Benedict over Knott amend when he's finished his stint doing Hamlet?
