Alf Hartigan Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Park Foot, Pooley Bridge, east bank of Ullswater, Good for ballooning if you get a taxi into Penrith, two good pubs and a restaurant in the village if you're with the maud. Quote
Casino Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Park Foot, Pooley Bridge, east bank of Ullswater, Good for ballooning if you get a taxi into Penrith, two good pubs and a restaurant in the village if you're with the maud. aye, we went there made all the better as one of out lot brought his speedboat shame about the speed limits if you want dead quiet, fire pit and ale, red bank which, i think, is carnforth Quote
Bigtoe Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Nowt good about caravans. In fact id rather be shot in the head than seen pulling one of them along the motorway in a Volvo with extra wide wing mirrors. Surely the fuel, pitching and the chemicals for your bog cost more than booking a b and b for the weekend. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Why would you do your chemicals in the bog? Do these caravans not have curtains then? Quote
mickbrown Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Fuck tents Camper vans is where it's at Tell us more. What you got? I've a hankering for a camper van. Quote
Nobster Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 We had a tourer for years went all over the lakes including Park Foot. Back to nature you cant beat it and the pubs in Pooley Bridge are great. Quote
Zico Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Tell us more. What you got? I've a hankering for a camper van. went round a few places looking, and there was no way wanted to spend on a new one just wanted something could drive, park up, not have to put a tent up, store stuff etc don't need a home on wheels, pointless (for us anyway) ended up with this romahome, bought it second hand for 3.5k off some 60 year old lesbian couple in stockport it's a pick up with detachable "house" - vehicle is 10 years old, the house is 30 Quote

MancWanderer Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I'm yet to read anything in this thread that would convince me to try camping in any shape or form Quote
Gumbo Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Camping is not for me ever since a 'bad experience' on cub camp at Linnet Clough Quote
no balls Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Camping is not for me ever since a 'bad experience' on cub camp at Linnet Clough I think you probably need to tell the class about this. Or maybe people working on operation yewtree Quote
Gumbo Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 It was several trees that caused the upset. I got lost in the woods in the dark coming back from the toilet cabin. Quote
Winchester White Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I fucking love camping but I also like staying in a nice hotel or country inn. I have also had some really good holidays in caravans and log cabins as well as 5* luxury in the caribbean. Go with the flow and you might just enjoy roughing it Quote
