No sorry i'm off to the Pro-Fracking meeting because it will bring in much needed work into the poorer communities

Like Jonny Fow :)

I was thinking of going in a kaftan, flip flops and a top knot.

There was a test rig on a field between the fairway on the 15th at Old Links and Johnson Fold but it was stolen.

You've got to feel sorry for our MP lining up against the usual suspects tonight

It's an anti fracking one now

Apparently were about to destroy the local environment

Says the person who filled up a full tank of fuel today, has the gas central heating on full blast whilst powering his laptop in the mains with the Christmas tree lights blaring

It seems it's fine for it to come from other parts of the world as long as it's 'not in my back yard'

Yep, mostly the types who could not survive one night out in the cold, let alone two. Bring it on i say, plus a few more coal fired power stations fed by British coal for the next 30 years before our chinese built (time bombed) nuclear power plants stop the lights going out.

I'm not that bothered if it comes from nuclear, coal, O&G, biomass etc

Ideally it wouldn't be by burning fossil fuels but it needs to be cost effective

Most of all it should be coming from UK resources and not Russia

I think we need more nuclear power plants! They are the future.

The staff involved need better training though. I'm not sure about others on here but I never fully rest easy knowing the halfwits they let loose in those ticking time bombs.

Pretty much where I am at, but I've no qualms about coal as long as the emissions are treated.

From what I've seen they are very good for the community; keeping the special kids off the street

£10,000 per household if Horwich gets fracking

£10,000 per household if Horwich gets fracking

For me one of the strongest arguments against fracking was that although it's a money spinner - it doesn't trickle down to the local community. This would be a way of sorting this problem out.

£10,000 per household if Horwich gets fracking

I'm calling in a big Chinny Reckon here.

There must be 10,000 houses at least in Horwich. Probably double that, fuck knows.

Even at 10,000, that's £100 million being forked out before a drop of gas has been produced.

And if they are that confident, I'm sitting tight until they offer me £100k minimum.

Demand a big bin. Hth.

A slim bin full of £50 notes would solve a number of issues

That's what mine looks like on most emptying days

Its the best place for lobby

Can't see the problem. Get fracking. Horwich could become an Emirate.

They could rename it Catarrh

Its probably been covered on this thread but fracking seems all well and good until its proposed in your back garden.

It's easy to sit there and say crack on its great for the economy when it's somewhere else.

When lorries are twatting through your village and setting up sites where your kid plays football then crack on and let's have the debate.

These sites aren't temporary, they will change areas for good.

It's fucking progress FFS. I can remember protesters against St Peters Way.

All these protesting still want to turn on their gas fires when it's cold, boil a kettle and cook.

Has to happen. Resistance is futile.

Will you chain yourself to a tree Gonzo? Chains for a non sexual reason will be a pleasant change will it not?

Are we all living in caves using candle light at the minute or something??

It's fuck all to do with progress, it's about making money.

Don't be so stupid. It's about energy supplies and independence.

You greenie types should know that the traditional world resources for energy needs are running out. Too good an opportunity to miss and it won't be missed no matter how much of a nuisance a few Fylde fuckwits make of themselves.

I'm not a greenie type. And there's no proposed fracking near me.

I'm just saying I wouldn't like a fracking site where I live and I understand people's concerns about putting one where they live.

You're not very good at discussing things are you bolty?

Even worse at seeing someone else's opinion.

The type of bloke everyone dreads in a pub.
