December 18, 201510 yr If a sale was close, the training ground wouldn't be offered up surely just before? Or the club has a contingency plan in place. Anyone who wants to but is unlikely to have £20m sat in a copper jar in their bedroom. We need to verify them as much they need to check the accounts, I assume this is happening now, in the meantime if we could have the sale of some land lined up to raise capital to pay folk so we do not have to give players away. They would need to arrange the release of any capital ( ready for people to panic when people realise the buyers are having to raise money) Or it might be a way of telling potential buyers that we have other ways of raising money so they can not screw us over in the negotiations.
December 18, 201510 yr Euxton is Premier League standard. Lostock is ok but not on the same level. Lots of portacabins. This!! Euxton is top-notch with pitches, saunas, gyms and a swimming pool. Lostock is tidy but basic. To have to sell to a local rival is a major humiliation for our club, but needs must. Any sale to Hemmings/PNE would also dent our attractiveness to the current suitors (Holdsworth, etc). Is the £15m still a viable asking price? Also, those suggesting that this was being sold on for development (houses etc) are way off the mark. There is not, and unlikely ever will be, any planning permission for such a development because of the previous use of the land. Wasn't it once owned by Royal Ordnance?
December 18, 201510 yr The club would get criticism if it didn't investigate options in the case of a deal falling through. Lennon hints a deal is on the cards, but whilst that process goes on the club needs to make sure it could raise funds if it doesn't end up happening.

The entirity of Buckshaw Village is built on land that was previously owned by Royal Ordinance, so not sure why you think that would affect planning permission on the training ground site. I don't think the site will ever be redeveloped for housing, but it's nothing to do with how it was used previously.
December 18, 201510 yr Any ideas who's behind the anonymous BWFC Supporters Trust? I suspect it's the LoV crew, in which case I'm out, obvs.

OK - but we agree that any potential purchase by PNE or it's owner would not be for development purposes. The point I was really making was about the relative power of the two clubs. I recall twenty years ago, after t'Roverrrs had won the PL, that lots of people I knew who supported various NW football clubs were eyeing us and commenting on how we were gearing up to be 'next big thing'. They were right. Now I must grudgingly concede that if Hemmings gets things right on the pitch at Deepdale they will be fully equipped to have a go at the top table. I doubt he will make the same mistakes PG/ED did either.
December 18, 201510 yr Fuck off, two years ago Wigan were riding high. PNE aren't even the biggest team in Preston.

December 18, 201510 yr Seems pretty clear, PNE are a small club, in time they will revert to type, as did Wigan. Despite people claiming Whelan was a "winner".

December 18, 201510 yr i know you probably know about stuff like this, so what does this trust aim to do theyre not looking to buy the club, are they
December 18, 201510 yr Maybe the Holdsworth consortium etc don't want to buy Euxton and they're quite happy with Lostock as a job lot, no doubt the purchase price would reduce too, so Eddie is selling Euxton separately to raise a few Bob for himself. Or we're still fooked and are nowhere near being taken over so Eddie is selling Euxton to pay our bills as to avoid administration.
December 18, 201510 yr Anyone actually remembering that Lostock is 'owned' by Brett Warbie? When he hands it over to the club, we can call it the Warbie Training/Academy Centre then.
December 18, 201510 yr Im pretty sure that the nimbys of horridge and lostock had a planing condition put on Lostock that it couldnt be used for 1st team training due to traffic worries. probably easy to get overturned in the current climate.

I think the holdsworth consortium of spices and tyre kickers would take anything they could get their grubby little nuts on. After all as they don't have a pot to piss in getting anything for nothing would be an achievement

I doubt he will make the same mistakes PG/ED did either. Hemmings owns Chorley / Euxton and everything else in and around that area (and Blackpool tower). He must also own PNE training ground by a golf club up Blackpool Rd. Suspect he would shunt the PNE lot from current one to Euxton and build luxury homes on the former site. Lostock (from what ive seen) is fecking huge with development land around. I would suspect players changing in a portacabin rather than a brick building will have little effect. It may even be better long term for first team and young ens to have more interaction of train nearby.

December 18, 201510 yr Any ideas who's behind the anonymous BWFC Supporters Trust? I suspect it's the LoV crew, in which case I'm out, obvs. I am 1 of 8 co founders. Another founder is a qualified insolvency practitioner & we have political representation too. Yes one of the co founders is from LoV but this isn't about him and he knows it. We need all forums to work together on this if you want the best for the club. We're building support with over 100 fans submitting their details just this morning. In your position I'd be just as cynical as you. Hopefully we can roll out our secret weapon tomorrow.

I had hoped that someone would come forward, and I wish you all the best. But you've already addressed my issue with the LoV crew, like I said, I'm out. In fact, I'd go further and say with their involvement I'd oppose you. You can't have someone who is all about self-promotion and expect something different from them. This is my own opinion, not that of WW, of course. I suspect my friend Mr Peacock is involved. He gets my backing. But not with the LoV bloke.
December 18, 201510 yr I can confirm Chris Peacock is involved. We've tried to clarify things and request any questions you have for us to ask supporters direct. http://www.bwfcst.co.uk/questions-questions-questions/
