At what stage when the players haven't been paid can they claim breach of contract and walk? I think that's what happened to some of the Rangers lot.

The Rangers players were able to walk as it wasn't the same club that they signed their contracts with. There is a rule in Scotland that the contracts are null and void if wages are late/unpaid for three consecutive months, not sure if it applies in England (Hearts went for 18 months only paying wages on the third month).

If she can bring Alannah Myles with her, then football would be secondary. Kinell, that video of her clad in black leather whilst doing her 'thing' sat on a ranch fence had an extremely profound effect on me.

well, at least he has experience with bankrupt/insolvent ventures, which could come in handy

joking aside though, with a bloke with experience in businesses going bust, and then from reading back the various articles on here the warning signs really are there for Deano's mob:

From the Daily Mail Article:
"Loyal Bolton fans will be desperate to avoid asset-strippers getting their hands on the club at a low price and using it to make profits on its property value rather than run it as a football club."

From the article about Disley in the LEP:
"The gang, headed by Disley, targeted companies in financial difficulty. They would take over the companies and strip them of their assets - using them to open bank accounts and obtain money by writing fraudulent cheques."

Disley out.

There are two separate bidders but ne'er the twain will meet.

Just to correct something I read above. VAT returns can be monthly, they're not always quarterly.

I've no idea if BWFC are monthly or not btw.

If that disley is involved in buying us then I can see me sen fucking it off

Cavalry needs to be coming over the hill soon & I don't mean Corporal Holdsworth & his mottley crew.

As things stand, it looks like they're the only folk who've attempted to mount horses to come over the hill......it might be them or nothing, which is a worry

Fwiw I still think we'll find a buyer and I pray it's not holdsworth and the canutes

If we are wound up...

and we're docked points...

Surely the best thing would to issue shares in a re-created company and let the fans buy the club back..

(like what we did last time)

And then have some rich bloke come in, buy the club and all the fans lose their money?

Would people really be insane enough to plough their hard earned cash into a football club though?

Yup, its a real money spinner for ED according to many, I want on the gravy train

The thing is if they get to the promised land (big if) it would be. Never been more profits in the prem. Just a massive gamble

Sadly we need more than a hero, Millionaires (Holdsworth chancers) are no longer worth a jot in football terms. we really need someone with Billions. I cant see how anyone buying the club in the present state, can hope to make a return without investing ludicrous sums of money to get to the prem.

The only decent profits in the Prem come if you take the money and run like Blackpool and Burnley have done

I doubt anyone else is taking a profit out (bar the glazers at Man Utd maybe)

The rest just spend as much as they can / can afford to stay on the gravy train

The model has to be Southampton who have generated good income from player sales for some time now. But then again their youth set up has a free run at the local area to scoop up the best talent and develop them. They also get much bigger gates for the same reason.

Their scouting network is definitely something we need to imitate though (if / when we get back in a position to sign players)

I'd be happy with someone coming in and steadying the ship until we are in a place where we spend what we have coming in

Guessing at the numbers though that will take the best part of £40m and with no extra money for a couple of players will mean certain relegation

We'd then have to stand on our own two feet in league 1 and mount a rebuild to get back in the championship on a limited budget

Doesn't sound very appealing in return for £40m of someone's hard earned though

You've then got the fact that our facilities are well above league 1 and would take a huge part of our league 1 income just to run them leaving less for players wages so we would end up having one of the smaller playing budgets in the division meaning we'd likely be wrestling with relegation to league 2.

Our ground will only wash its own face if we are getting 15k to 20k on every week whatever division we are in, if gates drop to 10k we might as well forget about the ground and play somewhere else.

The Oystons have done ok out of it.

Isn't this part of the Shania Twain bid though, so we get to "tap in" to the entire Canadian market, and hopefully uncover a few gems that some of the larger clubs wouldn't be looking at?

Indeed and can you imagine the uproar if we had owners like the Oystons

This is part of the problem, we know we can't get gates of 20K per week unless we're in the PL. Even if we are challenging at the top of this division we would be struggling to get to 20K

If/When we drop a division (I think that's a given now isn't it?) then we will be hitting around 10K for games, which won't barely generate £2M per year in gate receipts (which would today just about cover Spearing, Amos and Wheaters combined wages.....)

some very good points

while we all look at it now and ask why we didn't plan for the reduction in income, i wonder if there was much we could do

i'm not convinced we can operate the business we have on the income we have

maybe we had to gamble on getting back up

just putting it out there :)

i'm not convinced we can operate the business we have on the income we have

Forget the debt, that's gone (apparently) - The fact that we are losing close on to £1M per month clearly shows we can't operate the business on current income. So in order to get the club to break even, we have to either lose £12M of wages or increase income from the hotel, ticket sales and merchandise by £12M  - or indeed a mixture of both.

It doesn't matter which way you cut it, I don't see how that can be done without something very, very drastic being done  - like releasing all senior players and playing academy/youth players on sub £1K per week, and that would pretty much lead to us plummeting through the divisions and out of the league
