KA is a different kettle of fish, but AT THE MOMENT hes all we've got

i dunno if he has put money in, probably not if my simple maths is reet

we lose about a million a month? and got 2 million? for holding and 5 million from Blumarble

so, maybe thats why now is crunch time

I reckon we brought in say £3m from ST sales.

So a combined £4m for Clough and Vela might get us to the end of the season hypothetically, replace them with couple of cheap loans, hope we go up and then plan again for next season when we can trim the wage bill again.

Depressing scenario but possibly true.

And folk wanted them to be cheaper, we'd have got through until end of October then.

I don't think clough will be going anywhere in Jan

Depressing scenario but possibly true.

Or possibly not true.

Let's hope so

Probably not true

When a player is injured long term like Mavies, does insurance pay his wages?

Just wondering if there's a way of paying up his contract, anything to get costs down.

the only way of paying up his contract is to make him an offer he accepts

seeing as we aint got a pot to piss in, i dunno why we'd want to offer him say 80% up front, now

That's why I asked if insurance paid his wages. If they do then he might accept 80% which would suit the insurers and get him off the books. Free up a place too.

Apparently not, policies are too expensive so doesn't happen any more. Only international injuries tend to be covered.

Thankyou.

Nail on head.

He tried to blag himself a football club using loans and other people's money.

Really don't get the big love in. We don't owe him anything.

Yeah, but he showed passion.

And wasn't sweaty.

It wasnt hard to see we were gonna be in trouble at some point... we still will be over the next few years

Exactly. Folk seem to think we have been taken over by billionaires and all cash flow problems shouldn't now exist. It's going to take years to sort out the mess the inherited.

Though I doubt he plans on being here for years

Aye- main problem is wages; will drop a lot end of season and continue as mavies et al are released.

Do feel promotion is vital though to keep crowds up and attract new players to replace high earners.

Its gonna take years when players are on stupid wages like they are now.

No more stupid contracts and dont offer new ones to those on them already

On the plus side two 20k+ gates over Christmas will really help cash flow and may ease some decisions in the January window.

That would help, but it won't happen I wouldn't have thought, I'm not sure either game will attract 20K, let alone both of them

TBH I am convinced we will have new owners by the end of the season cannot see KA staying around long!

Question

If we get promoted this season do we get more money by being in a higher division?

If so, how much more?

Not from the gates/crowds/hot dog sales/etc but from the Football League

I'd guess a bit more not much but the key to that is we are A) a more interesting purpose and B closer to the cash cow that is the premier league. I don't think the championship is a money maker but it will in theory make our players more valuable
