jturner
Shutting down due to losing business from the work on Farnworth Tunnel closing Bromley Cross Station. The Railway Venue, in Chapeltown Road, Bromley Cross, is preparing to close its doors for the final time in January. "The business has been built up on people coming in from all over the place with many from Yorkshire, Clitheroe and Blackburn, who got the train straight to our front door. "The trains haven't been running properly since May. We used to depend on the weekend to see us through but this has absolutely killed us and we don’t know what to do." http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/13895436.Music_pub_the_Railway_Venue_forced_to_close_for_good_because_of_business_rates_and_railworks/
Whites man
Ate at the Rivington Bar and Grill at the weekend, that place nearly shut for good after the closure of Crown Lane choked off most of their trade.
Moderators Carlos Posted October 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 26, 2015 I'm calling bullshit, the trains will be back on soon, so that may have hit them but that doesn't cause you to shut down in the long term.

Moderators Carlos Posted October 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 26, 2015 Bullshit blaming the trains. Might well be closing, blame society for not going to the pub as much as they did, blame the owners for not doing good enough food or beer, maybe they've spunked too much on their bands, I dunno. But to blame the trains, bullshit.

kent_white
It days in that article they only get about 1% of people from the surrounding area. Why not start by trying for 2% instead of bitching in the paper?
Moderators Horwich Posted October 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 26, 2015 Cant see a "pub" getting regular customers when sometimes you have to pay to go in. Shit like that is for clubs. Pubs should never charge to go in
