Here is the final section of Hilary Benn’s speech, which was greeted by (a very unusual) round of applause in the chamber.   Mr Speaker, I hope the House will bear with me if I direct my closing rem

For those that haven't seen it

It was a very good speech. Most are ignoring his criticism of Cameron's "terrorist sympathisers" comment at the beginning though. If you took that part on it's own, a lot of the people applauding him would probably be calling him a cunt.

I wonder...

if the SNP were actually against strikes or simply voiting no as they're Scotland and voting no simply for that reason..

They love these Brimstone missiles don't they?

£100,000 each lads so make sure you don't miss eh?

Fire as many as they want, it's good for the local economy.

Sad to see all the threats being made against MP's. These keyboard warriors ought to be getting a knock on the door and charged.

What makes these white, middle class intellectuals become so angry? There's something going wrong in our universities.

The only laughing I saw came a little later on where it seemed there was some sort of in-joke going on between the Speaker of the House and MP's. I actually did think it seemed a bit poorly judged, but to say they were cheering the vote and having a laugh about that is totally overdoing it.

Speaking of poorly judged, I'm usually a fan of This Week (and a fighter plane geek) but their Top Gun inspired intro about bombing Syria was cringeworthy.

Speak for yourself. I hear what is said. You've just admitted that it doesn't matter what anyone says, you will always come to the same pre-conceived conclusion.

Not at all. I was referring to you hearing what you want to hear - a la contrary cunt.

Latest Lot of bullshit on FB is lots of folk sharing an interview in the independent with Hillary Benn saying No to bombing Syria from a month back

They are all giving it fuck of to the tories, what a huge U turn etc etc

I've pointed out that if they actually read the article they are sharing it says.......

"Mr Benn said Labour would only consider backing air strikes in Syria if Mr Cameron had the support of the United Nations."

I then pointed out that now there is full UN support it isn't really a U turn is it

These fuckers are just intent on making stuff up to support their opinion, it's fucking dangerous

Kinnell you'll be busy correcting posts on FB Birch!!

There's always been those who open gob without knowing what they're talking about it's just exponentially amplified in this era of social media.

Why research something when you read a headline and hit a button.

I know

I shouldn't bite but I do because these fuckers believe it, it's not a WUM at work

Like you say it's read the headline and share ffs

Heard they were £800K each.

£100K each changes things! Its like happy hour x4.

Someone set up an online fund raising thingy, donate £1 towards a Brimstone missile to fire at ISIS.

The £800k is apparently the cost per plane per bombing run if equipped with these missiles

Can we not just send James Bond over ?

No actual leader

Poorly judged?

The comment that got the laugh was when an mp observed that the speaker (John bercow) had been sat down without toilet breaks etc for 11 hours constant and joked that he deserved an award.

Bear in mind that people on here were pissed that Beckford was having a laugh with his mates after a loss.

Modern butthurt mentality.

What has people being drunk got to do with anything?

If you think Beckford having a laugh on leaving the pitch after a defeat is acceptable then you are coming from a very different place then I expect most of us on here are.

I remember the debate at the time.

Same spoon defended Spearing after he travelled to Ibiza 4 weeks into season and took recreational drugs and drank high volumes of champagne.
