A little bit flawed because whilst you can't buy an off-the-shelf fully automatic rifle, you can buy a semi-automatic and add-ons which make it fully automatic.

 

My guess is that if a gun shop is allowed to sell the semi-automatic and the modifying add-on then it sells you a fully automatic rifle.

That is what the Las Vegas shooter did.

No didn't his gun was still a semi automatic, he had it fitted whit a bump stock which help you fire quicker brings its closer to an automatic but is not , a bump stock use is the recoil of the gun to help you fire quicker.

only "good guys" would do that, if they all did it it would reduce the number of guns for sure but the bad guys wouldnt and they'd still have their guns, a much maligned point that Maggie tate used to make on this subject but does have a point.

good guys would then expect to have the right to buy a gun to protect them selves from the bad guys, shopkeeper doesn't know who the bad guys and good guys are and in most cases its subjective anyway.

this act is ok, but its a bit like ripping up your season ticket to make a point, he can replace it very easily which is the issue, the free availability and lack of control who can ( apparently i dont know ) seems to be the problem.

His point was that anybody can 'crack' given the right set of circumstances. Even the 'good guys'.

 

He also makes the point that it might be possible for somebody else to get access to his legally held gun.

 

I'm not saying this is the answer - I'm just saying that it might help if people don't think the issue is being forced on them.

If any of us on here "cracked", chances are excellent that we could kill half a dozen people with some real effort using a car/knife before we were stopped.

 

With half a dozen fancy guns and a few hundred bullets, you are looking at scores of people dead before anyone can stop you.

Indeed.  Had our nation been created to escape tyranny, Empire and had to protect itself from injuns and those pesky dagos and frogs then I'm sure having the right to bare arms would be a lot more of a sensitive issue.

The death rate by guns in countries where they aren't legal probably proves they are better off banned or very restricted

It's not that easy to get a gun in the UK. If it was terror attacks like Borough Market would have been even more bloody.

Will he? Is that how a mass shooter works? Does he only shoot up one class?

 

There’s so many questions but if there’s a threat against schools (I personally don’t think there is) then something needs to be done, you can’t fight armed nut jobs with love and prayers.
