Answering a question with a question?

I don't know and was just sounding out a thought

That was for Malc by the way

Its a bit of an own goal for Trump, he touted the Keystone pipeline (by an EO) he's just added 300 million to the cost, so I would say he's fucked that pipeline up cant see it going ahead now. Exxon are now having a think about a new distillation unit ( cost maybe 700 to 800 million) they say it will be cheaper to import the raw materials

Read a piece from John Bradshaw Layfield who's a regular on Fox News money programmes saying trumps plans won't actually work.

As the amounts actually imported from China are tiny and most imported steel comes from Canada.

It will save a few steelworkers jobs, but just on the two that highlighted above as probably cost a few hundred (permanent jobs and thousands of temp ones) on those 2 alone and that could just be the tip of the iceberg, and that before there is ant tit for tat.

The EU as already pick some that will hit republican areas/states  just to bring the point home

Trumps about 5 steps ahead of those on here who slag him off.

60% of Americans don’t rate his presidency (that’s an improvement on last month when 67% didn’t rate him) and only 27% think his steel tariffs will benefit their economy. I think it’s fair to assume that the majority think he’s a prick

I think Trump is hastening the decline of the one superpower we know we can (sort of) rely on. I also think he'd fuck us over in a heartbeat if he thought it meant it would enhance his persona.

Really! funny they voted him in to power then isn’t it?

I think USA is his first priority and rightly so I also think he respects the UK above any other nation.

He didn't even win the popular vote to be fair but a year into his presidency more voters have woken up to his chaotic and bullying administration. He's fast becoming a national embarrasment but if he can pull off the NK bit then that would be good. It's looking like Mueller could deliver a mortal blow in the next few months

I agree - and I still reckon he'd fuck us over in a heartbeat!

I look forward to the next US election when the people vote again I think he’ll piss it again. Folk are not fools he will be judged on what he’s delivered not the views of the left wing media and a bunch of luvvies.

The good thing is, he won't give a fuck what the naysayers say. He'll just get the fuck on with it.

His re-election, and the aftermath, would be entertaining to say the least.

Probably only because we speak a similar language to him and his country.

In one way I hope you're right. Be better if he does turn out to be the dogs bollocks.

Just a pity he has appear such a cunt at times.

Don't necessarily expect a saint but he doesn't help himself.

Give me him over Putin anytime though.

A diplomat he is not, he’s a get things done doer. granted he has his own particular style but it seems to concentrate the minds of world leaders and movers and shakers. I think ultimately his tenure will make the US economically more sucessful and thats his job.

I hope you're right; though I don't quite share your confidence.

A healthy American economy should help everyone else.

He won't have made America Great again in this term for sure. The tax reforms are being banked by the big companies and so the desired jobs and investment stimulus it was meant to be won't happen. The mexican wall won't happen or if it does it won't be paid for by the Mexicans. The guy is a bumbling fool

I honestly don't know about that.   I mean where do these stats come from?   The majority of the press certainly portray him as such and the simple or stubborn minded never question it.

He seems like a nob head to me, as a person; but as a politician, he's a breath of fresh air.

I think he's more savvy than folk give him credit for like, say, Boris Johnson.  A massive bell on the outside but knows exactly what he's doing.

He's like a cute Labrador puppy compared to the battle hardened wolf that is Putin

Think your way off the mark he’s nobodies bumbling fool.

He's not a fool. He seems to be a bloke of below average intelligence who's a questionable track record who's been born into unimaginable wealth and subsequently become a narcissist and believes his own hype. Seemingly ruthless and with no obvious moral code - or at least one which seems to change as the wind blows. Like I said - I think the long term implications on Trump for the US and the rest of the world are frightening - particularly if he gets two terms which is a possibility.

Opinion poll based on 800 or so folk.  I'd be interested to see the demographics of the areas chosen - unless it's all randomised - but even then, opinion polls aren't the most trustworthy sources.   They do highlight a pattern I suppose.

Interestingly, he has an 82% approval rating with Republicans.  So, i'm guessing that not much has changed for those who voted for him?

And it's reported on CNN so fake news obvs :)

To be fair to all these polls have been relatively consistent over the last few months suggesting that they reflect the mood of the voters accurately but i get your point. Trump is mendacious at best but others would go further and call him a corrupt bully who is used to getting his own way. In my view taking office has taken its toll on him and i can't wait for someone to break ranks to tell us how it actually is in the White House. After all of the salacious rumours how Melania is still sticking by him beggars belief
