I'm not convinced. I think we'd be taking a much tougher line if we were still in the EU.

We are fellating the unholy phallus out of necessity!

Nah, it would

The Royal Family/state visit is one of the cards the country has to play and it'd still be in our interest to maintain a good relationship with the US even if we were still members of the EU

Well it's never happened before in the history of the US presidency has it? So it's not the norm.

Think it is a second visit that is unusual. But so is a President having his term split. Diplomacy means having to do things for the greater good. There is no problem with the invite IMO. If stroking his ego helps the relationship just do it unless we are happy taking minimalistic deal we might get. Despite everything he says the US are our biggest most important ally as a single country.

Yes - it's the second visit.

I suppose it just comes down to how much arse licking you're comfortable with 😁

It's not for me - but I shan't be out protesting.

It is the norm

US presidents get a state visit

We've offered a second state visit to Trump because he's an enormous egomaniac and it's something of interest to him that we can offer

We'd still have to dealswith Trump if we were an EU member and appealing to his vanity is how to deal with him, at least at this stage

Starmer's got it right imo

I think I'd have done the same in KS's situation. I might have just been a little bit sick in my mouth mind.....

Be funny if some fucker assassinated him here.

Surely to God there's got to be some deranged elite level sniper over here who can pick him off.

We can only hope.

Yes, whoever was king/queen/PM would have to stomach this as you say, for the right reasons. Contrary to the opinions many on here may have of me imho I’m very much “live and let live”, and tolerate most of not all viewpoints/politics etc. I love the USA and have many friends there. I’m not a bedsheet protester (even against the Andersons)……but Trump pushes all my buttons.  So, I’ve only even signed 2 political-type petitions in 56 years.  This one and the one against his first visit.  I’m thinking it might be him then, not me.

“He pushes all my buttons” therefore you can bet your life everyone who meets him will thinks he’s a repulsive knob.

Imagine being this deluded/precious.

I see the Trump peace deal for Ukraine is going well.

You’re right.  Must just be me then.  I’ll remember to tune in on telly in Sept then when he’s here, to eat humble pie and watch the cheering crowds 20 deep in the Mall stretching to get a glimpse of the great man.

And that won’t be happening either. You really do struggle on some of the most simple things.

Of course I struggle.  I’m deluded don’t forget.

I'll give it a fortnight before he sacks it off and blames Zelensky (for not capitulating and giving Russia everything they want).

Then he won't get his minerals deal.

VZ is no mug neither.

Reckon he's just giving tango man a run for his money.

Something will be sorted; can't see Trump backing out of something that could help with boosting America's manufacturing.

MAGA needs MINERALS. 😁

It also needs Putin to rein it in

Can Bolty, his biggest fan, not simply tell us what the plan actually is?

It's the red mist and the oral foam. No thinking when they're about.

Blue mist my friend.  Blue mist.  I’m an old fashioned right winger as I try to keep telling you.  I know you can’t understand though why I don’t fit your cliched view of the world.

It’s becoming clear what “the art of the deal” is

”let Russia have what it wants”

Hes so brave and brilliant 😍
