Even if this did get paid (unlikely), I doubt his supporters would realise he’s actually giving them their own money back after they’ve paid higher prices for imports after the tariffs have been passed on to them in the form of price rises…. So the tax payers would need to contribute the other $106 billion dollars. It would also be inflationary surely - at the same time he's trying to get the fed to reduce interest rates? Quote

The whole tariff thing will bite him on the arse at some point. As you say, it's certainly not had the effect he thought it would have. China was never really going to flinch, he wasn't counting on that at all. Having said that, it still a massive fucking ball ache, trying to get stuff into the US from China. We still have some packages sat in docks, waiting for the tariffs to be paid (we've been paid, so I'm not massively arsed, but our customers don't have their goods) Quote
