Manager was in catch 22 today. By all accounts Woolery was ineffectual as a lone striker (predictably) at Wolves, chucking him in at the start or even after an hour would have been risky. Last thing we want is a young player crumbling under pressure at home in a crunch game.

 

Thought he got it right today putting Feeney up top after the hour and then making changes later, though realise I'm in a minority and I have the benefit of hindsight.

 

Trotter was very unlucky to lose his place but managers will always favour their captain. Another difficult decision as Davies apparently did well at Wolves and dropping the most talented, though inconsistent, player  will always be unpopular.

 

Big dilemma coming up when Clough is fit as its hard to fit him in with a five man midfield, which makes us more solid.
