Thanks for banging on about it. We're all eternally grateful for your insight

  • I like how they have voted Chris Powell as their first choice.   Not many clubs can say they have had two black managers in a row.

I know that, thank you. Did you even read what I said. Can you read?

Yes but looking at the evidence. Warburton did what Rosled couldn't at Brentford. After leaving Brentford Rosler has struggled and Warburton looks to be doing well!

Just looking for reasons to be optimistic! Rosler sorted things out on the pitch according to that Brentford fan so he may have something about him. If it's to be him

I think I'd prefer Cotterill or Sheridan over Rosler, but if it's Rosler, then so be it. Tbh, Rosler must have something about him, win percentage of 44% at Brentford & 40% at Wigan.

Did well at Wigan when he first joined, then was dog shit. That's management for you

That easy to get a decent striker with that kind of money ?

Lennon had no less money to spend than 75% of this division.

Neil Lennon was given a difficult job and did it badly.

How many of his signings improved the team ?

I know age is a factor by is Amos better than lonergan ?

Derik maybe....

As mentioned one Mjalby went everything gradually got worse.

I think I'm leaning towards Jimmy Phillips.

Id be ok with Jimmy as long as they assured him if it went wrong he'd still have a place at the club

Would anybody have Megson back?

Would anybody have Megson back?

Jules would, he loves him

Christ no, I wouldn't even want Megson to return as a visiting manager. The man is buffoon - but he should have a nice garden

id have megson over jimmy phillips and his old boys club

Jimmy's too important to the future of our club to be made permanent manager...

Bridges between many parties may be burnt during the process which would prevent the scenario detailed by SJM.

It's all about developing talent (and, sadly, flogging talent) until we get another do on the gravy train.

I can see why casino wants a clean sweep through the club (jobs for the boys)

But I just want the best manager for our club

If that is an ex player or not

Would anybody have Megson back?

Theres a road near me called Megson Way

Anyway as you were

Aye, and they could use it for dusting all the empty seats.

I really don't understand your logic, we've had 2 new brooms with Freedman and Lennon, neither worked we've Jimmy and David Lee doing good jobs from what I can see in the academy we need folk who understand the club and the fans and know the players they are working with and players who respect those in charge, yet you think a 3rd new broom is going to have a significantly different result than the other 2. Please share your logic because I'm fucked if I can see it.

I'm failing to understand your logic as well

Why wouldn't a new manager with no connections to the club be a bad thing?

Sammy lee had worked with the sane players then took over. Look how that one worked out

A manager/coach of reserves and youth doesn't necessarily make a good first team coach

3 of the last 4 managers been a new broom, didn't work in fact was a cataclysmic disaster, cost us millions, I'm not keen on any of the managers in the frame, Jimmy knows the kids he understands the club he's not a Johnny come lately, that's my logic, is that to difficult to understand? Have you got a logic other than the Sammy Lee comment?

No I'm not dismissing any ideas of managers but the idea of promoting somebody from within just because they know the club is ridiculous

What is Jimmy's set of results as manager including the time he took over after Coyle went?

the one constant in recent years is phillips, lee et al

tasked, i would have thought, with producing premier league players

hasn't really worked out, has it?

not sure we need to be rewarding failure

When did the Academy open?

dunno

but i do know how many prem players it has produced in the last 5 years

So, the 2008/09 season roughly?

Kind of ties in with the kids of that time starting to break through over the last season or so then?

If we're also going to be honest about it, most managers would normally go out & try to buy success rather than turning to their academies?

I don't think you can blame Phillips for that!

The next few years will quantify your opinion or not.
