kent_white Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Would the average non sporting person recognise much difference between the two? Or is a kind of status thing? The player one has a ready made flap on the sleeve for injecting roids. Quote
DazBob Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 There is a difference, to be fair - I have one quality one and the rest I own are replicas. Usually the fabric is a lot thicker, and oftentimes the numbers are sewn on rather than ironed on. But no, probably at a distance you couldn't tell. Probably not worth the difference unless you're a major fan (read, mental case) who wears it day-in-day-out. You have numbers on your shirts? Do you have your name too? Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 You have numbers on your shirts? Do you have your name too?"I 8 Man U" An American Football top wouldn't look right with a big fuck off number on the front to be fair. Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 You have numbers on your shirts? Do you have your name too? Yes, all my American Football jerseys have numbers on them, and player names. That's actually how they come in the club shop 99% of the time. And as Matt says, they wouldn't look right without the numbers on (I assume that's what he meant, not "with"). Quote
Blondi Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Peter Reid is now 4/1 with Skybet, wouldn't be surprised to see him in charge at the start of next season. Quote

Cheese Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Can't think of a worse choice Must agree. The appointment of either Jimmy or Reidy would just continue the stagnancy in my opinion. Quote
passmosster Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 The last 3 appointments have been non-stagnant, outsiders who weren't up to it as several of us said at the time. Quote

Blondi Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I think people seem to forget we havent got a pot to piss inThis is the concern. Looks like we can't find a few hundred thousand compo, so Reid or Jimmy would be the cheap option. Holdsworth is in at 33/1 I bet Anderson has lumped on him. Quote
jules_darby Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 The last 3 appointments have been non-stagnant, outsiders who weren't up to it as several of us said at the time.So employ an "insider" instead? I think you're looking at the wrong criteria. Maybe the last 3 Managers had eyes too close together too so best avoid that as well So Peter Reid...someone enlighten me as to why it's a good choice. Please Quote

Please Given the wide range of excellent alternatives, I agree. On the other hand, no one stands out, so why not? Maybe an older figure with experience in the game may be useful with the youngsters. Who knows. Given up bothering to be honest, will only start worrying when an appointment is made. Or not. Quote
only1swanny Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Jimmy would be a smart choice at 33/1... might chuck some money on Club doesn't have any money, we have to work with what we have.. knows the younger players. and wont have high expectations.. Quote
Horwich Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 No way should JP be 33/1 in our current situation Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) Whoever we get in charge if we don't start well we're going to struggle the whole club needs and I mean desperately need to see some green shoots of recover in that first 10-15 games and we need a bit of luck. If it does happen then Reidy would be a master stroke old head father figure keeps it nice an simple or oooh Appleton young smart tactical bringing fresh ideas just what we needed. i think knowing the division is key so although I like Reidy I'd have my concerns that's why I'm pointed to cotterill but I also like mcleish I wanted him when coyle left but he doesn't know league 1 it is a really tough decision. We're still "big" enough to attract a few names that would turn heads I think but we may need to just avoid that temptation for a lesser name with more experience in league 1. Or do we go for the great "coach" a carver or a bowyer to work with young players again not ideal I always think get a manager with a good coach. So what category of manager do u reckon we need - old head, lower league experience or great coach? Why not get all of them = ......... Sean O Driscoll?? Edited May 7, 2016 by onlyoneawalker Quote

HR Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 If it was Jimmy or Reid why wouldn't they have been appointed already? The fact they are waiting until after the last fixture suggests it will be someone in work already. Is the Wilder option definately dead? He would be my choice. Quote

He would be my choice. I'm not too sure about that, maybe we're just waiting until the end of the season and then we'll name Reid as our new manager, could be wrong though. Wilder is available at 16/1 with BV, I won't be putting any money on him. Quote

I bet the Peter Reid thing is more of a shareholder thing, like when he made bank at Sunderland. been out of it for years, may as well get Alan Curbishley or Steve Gritt , 'cept Gritt is still in the game, so to speak.
